V. What The Cross Must Do In Us
A. Five aspects of deliverance as revealed in Galatians:
1. Deliverance from this present evil age
a. Witchcraft obscures the vision of Jesus Christ crucified (Gal. 3: 1)
b. We are from another age-not at home in this age (Gal. 1: 4)
c. Present age coming to an end (Matt. 13: 39, 40, 49, etc.)
d. Evil age because it has an evil god (2 Cor. 4: 4)
e. Believers have tasted of age to come (Heb. 6: 4-6)
f. Cares of this age/riches make us unfruitful (Matt. 13: 22)
g. Do not be conformed to this age-be transformed by renewing of the mind
(Rom. 12: 1-2)
h. We cannot love present age and be faithful to Jesus Christ (2 Tim. 4: 10)
Deliverance From Law And Self
2. Deliverance from the law
a. My old man was executed in Christ-no longer subject to the law (Gal.
2:19)
b. Law imposes a curse-law/grace are mutually exclusive (Gal. 3: 10-12
[compare Rom. 6: 14; 7: 6])
c. Follow map or guide-law vs. Holy Spirit (Rom. 8: 14)
d. Yielding vs. struggling-union vs. effort (Gal. 5: 18)
3. Deliverance from self
a. Not I, but Christ (Gal. 2: 20)
b. First step is deny self and take up cross (Matt. 16: 24)
c. Humble yourself-the way up is down (Phil. 2: 3-5)
d. Christ in you (Col. 1: 27)

I am glad we don't have to pay tithes as under the law anymore. Now we are free to give as we feel led of the Holy Spirit to give. Praise the Lord.

The church has been ineffective since it began. Salvation will always belong to the individuals. I pray for the weak, mentally disabled and unable to seek God for themselves… We are responsible for them.

Paul? Phil 3/4-9 Paul HAD righteousness according to the law; he was "faultless" (!). vs 6. But yet he counted this righteousness to be xxxxx (!) compared with the righteousness he had in Christ. vs 8.

We have been delivered from the PENALTY of the LAW OF SIN, NOT from the Holy perfect LAW OF GOD. Or is it OK to brake the 10 commandments now because we re not under the LAW of GOD? Jesus came to save us from the PENALTY of the law of SIN which is Spiritual DEATH. Matthew 5:19 Whoever, therefore, breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever does and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Noemi Arce Sister in Christ if you are lead by the Holy Spirit you won’t break none of the commandments of God because you will know what’s good and what’s bad. Now if you don’t listen to what the Spirit tells you then you will sin because the Spirit departs from you.

When we are in Christ Jesus, there is another law that operates in our lives. Not the law of sin and death, but the law of Spirit of life. The key is to be in Christ by faith and accept the truth of the word of God in our lives, that we are under different kind of law. Rom 8:1-4, Gal 3:26-27.

@Noemi Arce, you are right, 1 John 1:8-10, we are to confess are sins to one another and or Jesus Christ who is faithful to forgive us all our sins. Yes, the letter kills but Christ Jesus destroyed the law of death hidden in the law and freed us to serve Him instead. God bless!!!

The penalty of sin is spiritual death but also other things like sickness and curses. Sin is the root, these other things are the fruit. Iniquity is sin plus all of its consequences and JESUS took care of it all.
