The ATOTO P8 On-Dash Navigator was one of the best electronic accessories I added to my 1995 Honda Civic!
ATOTO recently released the P9 and it is quite the upgrade from the older unit. The P8 was already great, but the P9 adds an updated Android OS, larger 9" QLED screen, faster Wireless Carplay, and an HDMI input.
Just like the P8, you can seamlessly integrate wireless Apple Carplay to any vehicle just by mounting this to your dashboard or windshield. As a note, this P9 will need hardwiring to your vehicle until ATOTO releases their new power adapter plug with battery pack.

Thank you for the video! I'm guessing Atoto had the same realization you did about the screen being impractically big, and that's why they just released a 7inch version of the P9 which I just received last week. One other note, I was worried about the audio quality going to my car aux input based on this, but when I tested with it playing music locally from the device it sounded pretty solid. I wonder if the quality is bad in your test due to sending music to the P9 via wireless AA from your phone? Or perhaps they improved wired output in the newer 7" model. Either way, it's an amazing device with the built-in data. I'm using a Verizon SIM card and it gets fantastic speeds/coverage - might as well leave my phone at home!

Question: Will the ATOTO P909PR play Netflix from iPhone with Atoto hdmi to usb adapter and an Apple Lightning to Digital AV Adapter from iPhone???

Can you test if this can connect to more than one previously connected phones automatically when that phone is in range. In a scenario where 2 people use the same car for driving and if they drive alternatively, do they have to keep connecting to the bluetooth manually or the stereo remembers both the devices and can connect to one of them automatically? This convenient feature is almost not there in any of these stereos. Only AAWireless adaptor gives this functionality.

The P9 (and P8?) has the dashcam functionality, but is it possible to have a traffic sign recognition? (Especially interesting for countries with changing speed limits and no upload to any database, like Germany.)

I almost bought P8 last year, but didn't like the screen size and functionality... P9 looks better, but hard wire system is not friendly... Just want to plug and play... Thanks for the review!!

There will be a second version for P9 coming out soon and it will be then have the cigarette lighter function, plug and play.

I contacted cust serv in late 2022 & asked for these new features. I checked back a few months ago & Atóto told me a there were still no plans to upgrade/ change the portable line so I reluctantly bought the P8-pro & here we are 🤬. The internal mic is garbage in all Atotos from what I gather & hit or miss on the wired mic. Speaking of, you didn't review the external mic now that they added it back to the P line. Also, how do you know the P8 cams don't work on the P9? I'm overall happy to see the switch to Android & other improvements. I do wish the height would have stayed the same & only gotten wider similarly to the more popular Carpuride. They have to know visibility is an issue with any dash unit. I'd still say this is the "closest" thing "so far" to the perfect dash mount carplay/AA

How are the reflections? One of the seasons I went with P8 was the anti-glare.

I prefer the P8 with the anti-glare finish better. The glossy screen on the P9 did not cause as much glare as I expected, but the fingerprints were much more noticeable.

Can the P9 be powered using the cigarette lighter socket like the p8? I don't want to have a car stereo directly connected to the battery

Yes it can! I’ve submitted my feedback to ATOTO and they are working on shipping this out with a cigarette lighter plug just like the P8. I used the P8 plug on the P9 and it works the same. I agree, I would like to see a lighter plug option since it’s much easier than fuse taps. Everyone’s preference and install will vary per vehicle but I really liked ATOTO’s cigarette plug with audio out, charging, and power functionality. Thanks for watching🙌🏻

@@boltsandbanter I completely agree with you. I just placed an order with Atoto Europe. Could you tell me where I can buy a cigarette lighter plug to install it, or could you pass on the message to them to send me one with the package?
