Yeah banning is not right, but they are representing their country and their leader sucks. Unfortunately bad leadership can have consequences on more than just the leader.

Exactly. When the ATP Cup ran, Team Russia was the star. They dominated the Davis Cup and won medals in almost every category at the Olympics. Banning Team Russia is blatant discrimination, reduces entertainment for the fans and diminishes the standard for team competitions. It is almost as if they are trying to shame these super-talented Russian guys for who they are

Andrey is probably the funniest in this group and the amazing part is he probably does not know it. I saw in interview once where Daniil called him "Jannik" (in reference to Sinner look alike)" and he got mad and walked away. 10 minutes later he came back to Daniil and said " You are Davydenko then" !

His two-handed BH notwithstanding, I think FAA is the player closest to the Fed among the next gen and next-next gen. Terrific forehand, impressive forecourt game (with a willingness to come forward), and a quickly-improving net game. He'll never be the Fed (who will forever remain tennis's sui generis genius), but it's good to see players like him coming through.

Great answer by Dani on what makes a champion. Even though Roger has retired, he did not forget to include him in the 3 greatest champions of tennis. Rafa is always so respectful and gracious. Andrey is just so precious. I am loving the Russian players of this generation.

Honestly tennis needs much better marketing. Maybe I am based because I am a lifelong tennis fan, but these guys are all fit, funny, and handsome men that truly embody a competitive sport. The whole world should be invested in tennis with athletes like these!

I love that all these men come from different countries, speak different languages But they all share this unique experience So only they would know how the other person feels- like Andrey said, the adrenaline rush of nerves while holding the racket, that slowly turns into an addiction because of the little dopamine rush they get with each point and each win. Their sport is an all consuming, but lonely one where they have to push themselves to the limit time and again. And once you leave the sport it's probably difficult for a lot of players because tennis is a huge part of their lives.

I watched an interview from a KZfaqr who interviewed Rublev , I fell in love with his personality right away. He is kind , down to earth and unintentionally funny. I hope he can do some marketing for the ATP. He is a gem!
