Takanori Hoshino does a great job since I didn't even know it was a new voice actor behind Iori. Still, when you compare Yasui to Hoshino, I really think Yasui has a better voice that fits more with Iori's madness when he laughs or when he executes SDMs.

The great thing Kunihiko Yasui did was that he'd always deliver the lines and yells in a different way each game. Paraphrasing him: "To add more realism/humanity". By doing that, he made the transition into a new VA much more easier to take. When I first heard Yagami in XIV, I thought it was just Yasui delivering the lines in a different way. There were parts in which his voice sounded deeper and less smooth than I remembered, but I attributed that to his age... turns out it was just a new voice actor. Fantastic job. It is always great when a new VA can sound so similar to the previous one.

He's pretty good. And the "Doushita" even sounds similar to the original VA. But I don't think he nailed the laugh, or the Super (Nake, sakebe, soshite shine.)

i might get use to it later on but i will miss kunihiko he was the best iori voice from kof's begginings but i will miss his perfect iori laugh that got me into iori

Kunihiko Yasui (KoF95-XIII) marcou a infância de todos os fãs brasileiros que jogavam os KOFs antigos incluindo Kof-Kyo onde tem centenas de frases do Iori Yagami. Nem tem como comparar uma lenda daquela época nostálgica com um substituto que até agora faz 4 papéis de dublagem.

Its sad to see both kyo and iori to be replaced but it was time they retired. Thank you both for great childhood. I like new actors too!

The only very noticeable difference is the yell for Yatagarasu/Climax/Neomax, but even then Hoshino manages to match Yasui. Good stuff!

La voz de Yasui tiene mucha más personalidad que la Hoshino, pero es que además, de muy lejos, es una voz que le va perfecta al personaje, y más siendo un personaje como lo es Iori en el KOF. Min 0:56, pero eso qué es?

now this one is good cause although i prefer original VA mainly cause i grew with it, it doesnt bother me unlike kyo's new VA. Edit : Original laugh will be the best though

When I first watched Yugioh 5d's, i thought Jack Atlas shared the same voice actor with Yagami, but now I only found that Yagami was not Takanori by then. Their voice really have some resemblance

the doshita!! in the beginning when i played kof xiv i could not tell the difference but after i heard the battle grunts and the way how he spoke i noticed it was changed but i believe the new voice actor for ryo sakazaki is pretty much the best out of all new voices in the game

Takanori Hoshino is also the new Japanese voice of Mickey Mouse effective 2018. The more you know, and I find that to be a funny coincidence especially given Hoshino’s range.

Honestly, I can't choose which one is the best. Both of them did the great job as Yagami. Surely Yasui is the most known one since he voiced Yagami for years, but Hoshino is as good as Yasui, so..... leave this match a draw.

I quite like Hoshino. Yasui is iconic, but sometimes he sounded way too old for Iori (that was 16 years old when he made his debut in KoF '95).

Hoshino is a good replacement. Emphasis on "replacement". Yasui's Iori is iconic, Hoshino just work on what was already established.

No one can match the aggressiveness and roar like yasui (for example : 1:00 & 1:31) also his voice is more deep and that's why it sounds too damm legit. I think they should bring this VA back.
