Watch this exclusive cockpit view live-fire footage of the Apache AH-64 attack helicopter. This video was taken during the US army conducting a combined arms live-fire exercise known as Victory Eagle with Polish Land Forces at Bucierz Range, Drawsko Pomorskie Training Area, Poland, Oct. 25, 2021.

Do apaches ever engage at that low of an altitude? That was bad ass

That’s pretty low man I doubt it in Iraq and Afghanistan they are usually pretty high. I think that low would be too dangerous rpg or an Ak can damage it pretty bad

depends on the mission. if it's counter insurgency they're gonna be flying higher to avoid small arms fire. if it's a peer or near peer threat like Russia, China, Iran etc with serious threats like Shilkas, SA13s, MANPADs etc, they're probably gonna be flying low and avoiding those threats by using the terrain as cover.

One of my favorite demonstration vids was where an Apache hovered with only it's radar above the ridge to view the enemy forces (tanks, etc.), then it popped up, fired rockets and got outta there.

Man if I hadn't lost my leg as a teen, an Apache pilot was my goal. Not that my butt would have made it through basic😄. I've heard ppl say this thing can pop up from behind a hill and disappear before the target knows it's dead

The closest thing we have to an actual battlemech right now. We actually already have the means to produce bipedal walking fighting machines, but they are not practical. A modern MBT or attack helicopter would take out a mech very easily. They only have cool factor, but very limited battlefield practicality.

Bro, it wasn't because you were a stoner that you didn't become a pilot. It was because you bought into the myth that smoking weed makes people unmotivated. But I can show you plenty of people who were stoners in high school that went on to achieve success across a number of disciplines. ------ Time to delete that old misconception!

@@Corteum No its not always like that. Smoking always has motivated me. But to enter any branch or police your blood/urine will be tested (before joining but also sometimes while your already in). If they find any type of illigal substances you will be rejected or kicked out. Specially if you want to be a helicopter pilot or gunner.

@@eijmert About 8km is the range of the Hellfire anti-armor missile. What's more impressive though is that the Apache never even has to see the target itself.
