Kind of fun fact: Sasha was actually supposed to die when she went back to that village and saved the little girl. However, the author was persuaded not to kill her just because people really liked her. In a way, she was living on borrowed time in the author’s mind.

Where hannes died due to dina's titan eating him. Eren had a breakdown and cried himself out. That cry was done so well that you can perfectly interpret that he was laughing and crying simultaneously. And since connie never really saw eren cry before. He just misinterpreted it

when I watched it for the first time I hated gabi so much. particularly bc Sasha was my fav and obviously I grew up loving her and gabi was just a new character but after rewatching it I really understood gabi and I thought Sasha dying here was good for the story bc it really shaped gabi as a character. I think both characters became more important to the story overall

Second, Marley already set their eyes on the resources of the island, they are not going to take them "peacefully" so everyone who is "team peace" is naive as hell and people like that need to stand aside for those who take action to save lives by killing others. That's just reality, stop living a pipe dream that will never be real on a global scale. Third, the world, not just Marley is so racist against Eldia on a semi false history pandered by fear, that they are willing to commit mass genocide to "get rid of the titan problem. F*ck Reiner, Annie, and Bertholdt, they literally could have turned on Marley... THEY HAVE A NUKE THAT IS ABLE TO DESTROY ENTIRE MILITARY COMPLEXES IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE. But not only that, once they blow up one, the Eldian soldiers who I'm assuming make up a majority of the Army, would see this as their chance to rebel and a Military Coup would be so fast and quick that the other bases would fall into their hands with minimal destruction.
