Ymir is such a tragic and depressing character, she was quite literally living through absolute hell and emptiness for almost an eternity, and only Eren was able to snap her out of it. Can't wait for the next episode, it's where everything's gonna go down. Get ready to witness death.

Eren's character has been nominated for best protagonist and antagonist by crunchyroll anime awards. Which makes him the one of the most complex and divisive fictional Anime character.

@@raawesome3851 I think what he means is that you cant really be the protagonist and antagonist at the same time. the protagonist, whether good, bad or complex, is just the main character. the antagonist is the one who opposes the protagonist, so in this case Marley in the beginning of the season and then Zeke.

I can't believe how well done this episode was. The heartbreaking backstory of Ymir and then the much awaited scene of the rumbling. Plus this ost gives off a develish kind of vibe which suits the scene. Man Mappa always hits the spot on every episode.

But I guess it wont be for long. Envious people of other shows will give it 1 stars until it drops to 9.9. Just like it was with Hero or Assault. I honestly dont understand how anyone could hate on AoT though. Instead of wasting time hating, those people should watch this unique masterpiece of an anime. Ymir's character is so good....she has the power to be free but her mind was not free and for Eren he has the mentality to be free but not the power to make it happen....so they both ae inverse to each other....so to make Eren get his freedom she gave her power to him and to free Ymir from her slavery and endless cycle of hatred Eren accepted the power....such a touching moment.... thanks Samuel for this great music ❤️❤️❤️❤️

This chilling OST perfectly portrayed Ymir's Trauma and her desire to destroy the people who treated her as an outcast. What's sad is that she's going the wrong way about it but it's the only path for her. The Rumbling has begun. TATAKAE!!

What's haunting about this is how Ymir spent her life as literal livestock. So much that all Eren had to do was tell her she WAS human that she broke her curse and decided to end the world. The writing is just amazing. The CGI was beautifully enhanced. We're now in the most epic, brutal and chaotic battle that will ensure. TATAKAE!

Heart breakingly epic. Ymir had such a tragic backstory. The music, the terror in the music, even her transformation sounded different as well as her Titan being the height of 4 Colossal Titans. Now my personal thoughts about how I felt about Ymirs backstory. I was furious. Outraged. How could she be treated so harsh and never have the will to fight. The Attack Titan was within her. She had all 9. I don't know why didn't she use the Attack Titans will to be free. I honestly think she did love him yes

What MAPPA did the past 5 episodes was unbelievable. The OST’s was just ridiculous this season. With the new episode, honestly Attack on Titan is a masterpiece hands down. For all the people fighting in the comments, I'm talking about AoT being a masterpiece as a whole and not the OST's of any season :)

I believe the OST is so generic and forgettable by Yamamoto, not creative at all and the difference was quite astonishing when one of Sawano tracks reused at the beginning of Yemir story. I really wish Sawano will return in Part III.

Episode 80 Spoiler: She has to be one of the most suffering characters I know of. 2000 real time years of building titans with her bare hands. Think about how long it took her in that time slowed world. An entity nearly not being able to die which wants to face death on purpose because she doesn’t want to kill anymore. Manipulated so extreme that even after her death she still serves the Royale family even she doesn’t want to. And the rage that was build over all these years. I haven’t read berserk yet so I don’t know about what guts is going through but this right here is extreme haha. Attack on titan does an amazing job with introducing new characters.

Yeah, I remember thinking, sometime around 2013/2014, that the most Isayama would explain regarding Ymir Fritz was her coming into contact with the source of all organic matter and that it gave her power to perform miracles and improve life for her people and that's it. I kept thinking, "It's such a waste of storytelling, lore potential, and my natural curiosity about the origin of all Titans, if he doesn't properly elaborate on who she was as a person and her full story. Boy am I sooo glad he gave proper meaning to her story and gave her the same, if not better, treatment he gives to other characters and their backstories.

Guys who don't get why she remained a slave even after getting her powers: Do you know how humans tame elephants ? You attach them to a stake they can't get rid of when they're young. and you violently punish them when they try to escape. After that conditioning, even when they're adults and weigh tons, they won't even try to pull out the small stake, because of the trauma the conditioning has caused. I guess it is the exact same reason why Ymir wouldn't escape. Same as a brutalized dog who still seeks forgiveness from his master. Same as Eldians serving Marley. And i feel like it makes her story even more sad this way 😕😕

@@victorlincurve675 bro let me tell you something. There are lot of downpoints of wits animation. But i don't want to argue anymore i have argued to much on the internet. Just want to say that a a manga drawer my self it is not easy to draw fricking 24 drawings just for a second, Appreciate mappa too Personally i loved the animation in part 1. Wit was awesome but mappa is great too.

The best part was the diametrically opposed wills of Eren and Zeke. Eren is telling her to be free and trying to give her some autonomy, while Zeke is scrambling over, screaming that she needs to remain his slave.

2:20 This is the most emotional part of the song. Ymir now trapped in paths for eternity as a slave to make Titans whenever called upon. Every time someone shifts, or Zeke uses his scream, or someone is injected with Titan serum, she has to build their Titan. It took her 3.6 million years to build the collosal titans within the walls. It seemed like mete seconds for those of us on the mortal plane though. She was a slave for eternity. It's tragic.
