Thanks for the tutorial, I'm having so much fun with Sparrow Alter! The camera movement becomes very intuitive once you get the hang of it, and it will vary according to titan size and distance.

Keep in mind that speed is of the essence with new titans. If they turn their head towards you before you slice their nape, then the attack is much harder if not impossible to perform. I'm not even sure if this technique works anymore, even. DFA attacks are now impossible also. EDIT: With today's update, it is now just fucking impossible along with actually operating the bouncy 3DMG rubber band cables.

You dont need both hooks. I never really understood this until today. Basically you want to use the gas to lock hook length and turn at a nice distance from titan's nape and slice.

at first I usually do that and make +1,000 damages because I used to be a pro using sparrow strike, after a few months of not playing this I started from the bottom again being a newbie player lol. And I found it hard why most people do what I do but turns out what, didn't know this was a popular killing move for the titans and anyway. I love the old look of titans because they look so *CUTE!*

I learned from this tutorial and can now do the strike at will however for all the people complaining they don't have a finger free, I only use one hook and my camera and then gently press W+D if I'm going right.

I've got the technique right, but just as I swing around the nape, i'm not close enough to cut the neck, it keeps happening! What am I doing wrong?

For some reason I can't do as well with two hooks. The blades are just too short. For me it always goes a little too far. But with one hook, I can pull it off great! Not high damage, but kills almost every time. I reel in and it works great!

I only use one hook and hold down w, either a or d, and lmb, swing around and let go for the kill. It only works half the time though, never mastered it like this

The point is don't use gas and grapple only when you are gonna kill some too tans and gas and grapple if you're gonna grapple walls and woods

The problem I keep having with both of these moves is that my cables don't pull me close enough to their neck for my swords to reach them whenever I do the spin around them =/

the game doesnt let me launch both hooks at one time unless i use space

captain levi! sometimes i cant do the sparrow strike/alter. the blade would hit but not to the nape or i would entirely miss the nape. i tend to circle the titan too far and miss. but then if i tried to circle closer.. i would hit it in the neck and got eaten. any other tips regarding this?

Old sparrow strike not as effective anymore with these new titan models. At the moment what I do to take down a titan is a modified version of sparrow strike: jump, shoot one hook on titans chest, hook second hook on titans head which would look like a sideways v shape and perform the maneuvers you would when you execute a normal sparrow strike(tilting camera a bit off). I'm having some success, but it's still not 100% effective for me.

Is it still sparrow strike if it's only one hook? cause that's how I do really

Which fingers press which buttons? When I hook with Q and E, my ring finger is on Q and my first finger is on E. after I hook, I use my pinkie to hold shift for gas and my middle finger on W. However, I do not have a free finger to press D to adjust my angle. How do you do this?

Very nice tutorial, however, I have a little problem with this kill you use on smaller titans (the one shown at the beginning) ^_^' . I never manage to make a spin around the titan, I hold all the buttons, move the camera to the right, and fly straight, next to the titan instead of spinning around it. Any suggestions?

I don't know why I can't do it? When I hold noth of the hook buttons (Q & E) as well as holding W or Shift, nothing will function, as in, I won't move forward. Its like its only allowing me to hold only 3 buttons at a time?

why not press A/D instead of turning camera+W ? I dont get how you can fix your trajectory since you dont see the titan with A/D you see the titan it is a lot easier for those who are wondering this is still posible in the latest version I ve done it multiple times

I've been trying to do this for 3 hours with no success what so ever. It seems like I just can't get close enough to the titan to hit him :(

As soon as i let go of Q&E it just makes my 3dmg cancel, unless i had to keep those held down, in which case if i did can you add that as an annotation.

how do you do this in the air, some people are so good they never touch the ground and are always in the air doing this exact move and so easily. also about the reeling i see some players can use the sparrow trick to swing around the titan and right when the're in between the titans neck they some how zip towards the titans neck really fast, how does that work. its like the sparrow move instead from a distance zip towards the neck of the titans?

it looks easy in the video but when i do it i always end up going into the titan face and getting eaten :(
