The main problem with war is that it is VERY hard to hide you kill every night (after second kill) which means they WILL know you existence, instead of a hurrah surprised reveal to kill all, war looked like a support role for the other NA by being a diversion (or by helping the SC) so this buff is well deserved

@@jonathantorres3589The death issue is that you have to be like Doomsayer but in deaths. And the number is kinda too much of a deal compared to other counterpart in apocalypse. So likely we may see Soul Collector buff(and indirectly buff to death)

Might not be super fun but I think mixing coroner and trickster into a neutral role might be cool. Pick someone who was killed at night from the graveyard and your win condition for the rest of the game is tricking whoever killed that person. If you catch them that person dies, so do you, but you win. If your culprit dies before you find them you pick someone else from the graveyard to avenge n stuff. Downside I guess is that it makes vigi way more hazardous to claim kills with hmm

Honestly a much better buff for trickster would be for it to survive its first successful trick rather than having infinite tricks. That way it has the capability to take out two evils if it plays well, rather than just hard confirming roles as non-killing down the list.

They should make it so you have 3 uses but you actually survive when you taunt someone. It keeps it as a vigilante alternative that can kill people with defense, has no risk of killing a townie, but can't kill non-killing evils

My idea was a vet vigi combo that has 3 uses, when tricking someone u roleblock them and if they are a killing role you attack the with a powerful attack and also u attack everyone that attacks u (u still die to them though) and if u kill a vigi u die yourself to the hang man so people would be scared to trick tk claims

@@pixelgamerpro1597I kinda see this working actually. A trickster being more of a crazed kamikazeing vet adds a unique character to the role which is good. They trick (distract) any non-killings and kill (along with themselves) any killing roles they visit ( along with any killers that visits their target too!). Tag 3 charges on that bad boy and you got a more interesting role to play with! Hangman feels redundant since, as you said, they'll die to any killing roles anyway.

I feel you, my mom died a year ago and pipe was there for me. Now i understand people that say they love a random youtuber they never met... maybe it's not cringe after all, i do be loving pipe for just existing and helping people by being himself (positives vibes and a good personality). Stay strong bro, that pain never goes away but it gets easier to deal with it and start remembering them for the amazing things they did in your live and not by the lost. (Sorry for the long message, just wanted you to know that you are not alone and you will get through this and keep moving forward, i think that's what your mom would have wanted). ♥

I actually really like trickster. I agree it shouldnt be infinite uses but i like that its job is just to hunt down ck or nks. it can still be countered by stuff that are taunt immune like witch or necromancer.

Its mostly a zero sum role though. Any NK you kill help out Coven really and unless you get last coven, its a glorified 1f1. I think old Trickster was better. You had swing power mid to late game especially with good info. I just find most players were playing it like Vet, which would get a lot of TPows killed N1.

the first iteration of Trickster was just a worse Veteran, you'd get attacked but there was no way to guarantee you'd hit your attacker back. second iteration with 3 charges was okay, but still kind of just a worse vigi... now, with infinite charges, you're like a mix between a TI, a Bodyguard and a Vigilante, which, as long as you don't trick a vigi or vet, you're fine and it's pretty okay

I mean, before the buff it was just worse Vet/Vig, at least a Vig could get information if he shoots an immune, Trickster cant. Trickster also dies to protected targets meaning if he finds a coven being protected by a Cleric, he's gone with nothing been done. But Trickster now is just an RNG wheel spin that is more likely to do his job when the games nearing its end

Trickster probably does need a change, but not a buff. In the original form, it sounded like it was Worse Veteran, in that it only activated when someone attacked you, you redirected their attack to someone selected, you died as well, AND you still had the 3 uses limitation of Veteran. The infinite uses would be fine, IF it was how I thought the original version of how I interpreted the role. Namely, a self-defensive role that redirects attacks from you to a target, killing you and the killer in the process. That would mean that it potentially kills 2 evils if you target well, or 2 town if you target poorly, WHEN those with the role are attacked. Instead it's currently skill-less Vigilante, find a Killing Role over time, take them out and die in the process.

Hot take. Old Trickster was better. Instead of being reverse BG, it could be hostile or control town during N2 and N3 and with town info, be able to target evils. Everyone was playing it like Vet lite, but ended up killing TPow roles N1.

I had an insane old trickster game. It was a me & townie vs. sk & coven. I claimed tpow so both sk and coven attacked me and I killed the coven and we voted out the sk. Old trickster was only ever decent late game

Old Trickster was just bad. 3 tricks, easy to find non-killing roles. Most of the time Trickster would do nothing at all, because if he finds the wrong kind of coven, nothing happens. Trickster was just bad Vigilante. At least with infinite tricks the Trickster is *likely* to do something.

@@woobgamer5210 not talking about that. The old trickster I was talking about was the one that redirected all attacks on self. As the previous poster said Trickster was more powerful every night after N3 if you held on to your tricks. That is the one I want back. It required you to hold back and really could clutch for town if you were redirecting a lot of NE attacks around. Even the new one with Infinite tricks is still a worse BG. BGs have a self and get to protect a big role. Even if you say kill a CL, you can find out you just saved the SK he was going to kill that their PM found as trickster. BG can do that too... but they would be an idiot if there was a Mayor or Pros around. Trickster is just a worse BG now, and doubly worse if you are the killing role he randomly finds.

I had an amne trickster game last weekend where I claimed tpow, tool control of town and had a secret cleric save me n3 . I only got 1 kill right at the end game, but it was for the win leaving a knighted seer against a SK for the win. Its not a "bad role", its basically reverse or aggro Bodyguard

What they could do with trickster is have them have an unlimited redirect an action of whoever visits the trickster's target onto another player the trickster selects, for example, SK (1) attacks a seer (2) that the trickster went on, the trickster also selected 3 (who is vet on alert) as the recipient, the trickster redirects the visiting role (1) to whoever the second target was (3), with the target player (2) receiving a message for it and the trickster counting as having visited 2. Then visiting role (1) and tricksters redirect (3) play out as if 1 had just chosen 3. Would apply to any visiting role but not astral. Might even have tricked TI get a message saying they were tricked.

probably just a reference to berserker being a spiritual successor to juggernaut. my guess is that the developers wanted the other three horsemen, and when designing war, realized juggernaut could very easily be remade to fit in

Trickster is weird because it's just Bodyguard effectively. Instead of guessing who gets attacked, you "guess" the attacker. But, in that way, it's just really active and in an unfun way.

True, and guessing who the killers are attacking is much harder than guessing who is a killing role themselves bc the former changes every night and you risk protecting another evil instead of town. Infinite guesses to see who rolled ck or nk is far easier.

trickster isnt a useless role but it needs tweaking. Basically you just get a read on an evil with a kill roll and take them out like a reverse vigi. It's stupid because you're killed for getting a good read and doing your only job.

trickster change: instead of you getting a powerful attack when you successfully trick someone, you get powerful defence instead. You get a message that you were attacked and protected, but not 100% confirmation that you made the target attack. you can continue playing, and lock down a killer similarly to just killing them, but now there are choices to make. Thoughts?

Trickster definitely still need tweaking. Personally I think the first version was more fun. Love baiting my attackers and get themself killed. My best was when I baited a WW to attack me and you see WW killing WW. But the current version is just "boring" as a role.

With a name like Trickster the role doesn't have very much about tricking your opponents xD Part of me wishes they went more into the tricking side of things, since tricksters tend to thrive off mischief, crossing boundaries and having secret knowledge what if after they died they could reveal how many roles are left from the killer they killed or something though that maybe too strong... perhaps they can only reveal it to one person and if that person is fake then sucks to be them or something, but I really wish they had something more to them Or maybe they could 'trick' a person to reveal some secret knowledge about them, maybe choosing multiple people and seeing if any of them are x role. Kinda like how doomsayer has to find the right roles, but instead you have 3 people and see if any of them are a role of your choosing. You wouldn't know which one it is but it could be an interesting ability maybe? Orr a very bad idea, probably a very bad diea

I preferred his original deflection over the rework that made him a mix between a VH and a bodyguard. Suicide Town is just not fun. "Hey, I did my job right, now I'm stuck in the graveyard, yeaaaah...!" Trickers deflecting attack to others was a pretty good concept, it just lacked something else to give it a bit more hmph. One buff that comes in mind is that using his ability could have informed him of every role that visited him during the night.

Extremely bad ideas for roles but trowing ideas into a bucket as suggestions if someone could have a better idea idk: - trickster could be reworked as a "reverse amne" of sorts, instead of bringing attacks to themslves, maybe copy the ability for the next night? - coroner being able to "research" the crime and being inmune to that exact role for the next day (besides the abilities they already have?) (idk where to post this)

In the second game the "i claimed first" is the worst argument ive seen. Naturally the TI will claim first since they cant get RIT nor Doomsayerd. A TK wont just CLAIM where he went unless the absolutely have to. Such flawed logic that some townies even followed.

Tldr: rework trickster to townprotect transporter lite. Tbh i feel like a rework to trickster would be better. I feel they suffer from the same issues as bg where to do your job successfully means to not play the game anymore and with no medium there's even less of a point of deducing while dead since no one can ever see it till they die. Its low skill and low fun like you said. Honestly i had this idea of what if they made it a town protective role instead where it works like a transporter lite where if your target is attacked the attacker attacks someone else that you selected. TI's can still visit and get results aswell as non attacking evil roles like arso, pb, etc. There could be a unique interaction where pirate shatters the mirrors as they only want the loot so your tricks wont work (i just dont know how to make pirate work with it) None of the confusion of transporter but all the high reward feeling of it.

Whenever I see War / Pestilence / Famine / Death ! It reminds me of my favourite web novel series ! [ My three wives are beautiful vampires ] !! Currently it's ongoing and it has 755 translated chapters out of 776 chapters and new chapters are being released on a daily basis!
