what about the vocals and instruments came thru too high and distorted when recorded, is the mix completely trash or is there a way to recover it

iZotope makes a de-clipper that works somewhat. But if it's REALLY distorted from digital clipping, you need to re-record.

Not sure you can be trusted since you have no ponytail, but please explain to me why putting a glass up to a door helps you hear through to the other side. Also breaking into safes using the same method. Asking for a friend.

Stephen Brock I’m not sure if I’ll be able to make a whole video on the topic, but sound vibrations transfer faster through solids and liquids than gasses. PS I had chin-length hair and an undercut in middle school... does that count?

my mic sounds muffled and a moment far and the next moment close, almost like I have my hand wrapped around and let go repeatedly, but i stood still when i was recording and never touched the mic. does it mean it's broken or I'm not setting it up right? (i have an akgp420 condenser mic plugged into an audio interface)

Hmm, I've never experienced that particular problem, but it sounds like it could be hardware related. If you can, try the mic on a different preamp or audio interface and see if that changes anything. You can also test it out by playing pink noise through your phone to see if the weird changes happen without having to sing all the time.

Hey, thanks again for your tips. I'm struggling with an SM 58. The HPF is very helpul but I think there are still a lack of clarity. Do you think that the SM 58 is not good enough to get a clear (female) vocal for a livestream ?

Try cutting with a low shelf around 200-400, and make another cut with a bell curve between 400-600, depending on her timbre and alto/soprano range. And watch this for details kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m99nZJiD1rzTqp8.html
