www.PingSkills.com - In our video on the forehand counterhit, Alois casually mentioned that if you can hit 1,000 forehands in a row you know you have mastered the stroke. Well, we thought we had better put ourselves to the test. So here is us attempting to hit 1,000 forehands on in a row. Enjoy!

How my Dad taught me to play ping pong - hit 100 in a row. This was in the 1960’s in rural SC. I was young, probably 6 or 7. A great foundation. Now I’m 65 and have a ping pong table in our dining room. Best game in the world! ❤️

nice! i remember, when i was a kid, TT was very popular in my area. the coach requested from any beginner to return 100 balls in a row, before he would put him/her in the coached group. it was tough. many times, many kids reached 50, 70, 90 and then weeks later finally 100. what a success.

Nice! Done 300 with a training partner and it was hard, not to make a mistake in 300 balls.. I imagine for 1000 is really hard, also physical demanding. I especially enjoyed after 1100 when you make like 200 more with a lot more speed!

Well done for 300! Once you can get to 300 you have shown a lot of consistency and it means 1000 is definitely possible for you! Keep up the good work!

Not too bad for aa couple of 'seasoned' players, my form on the forehand drive tends to break down after about 15-20 shots, my greatest challenge seems to be wrist stability, to find that sweet spot where the movement is fluid enough to just flow and not to be too robotic which makes my arm tense up which leads to aches and pain afterwards.

After 1000 clear tempo increase and more risk tolerance big discussion topic - who messed up? Alois because he missed or Jeff because his placement of the Ball before was a little sloppy therefore took meditating Alois by surprise. Bevore 1000 hit everything landed in the save area…

Great challenge, however if we consider this 1000 successful strokes to know you have mastered the skill, then would not you need 1000 hits for each and one of you? Because this way you have only achieved 690,5 strokes in a row, and not a 1000. There should be at least 2000 hits.

Hmmm, great point. Maybe Alois meant if you and your partner can hit 1000 strokes in a row together you've mastered teh stroke :). I hope so otherwise we might need to try again!?!?

@@pingskills If this is the case, then well done. If not, then you may want to try again. Because I was thinking that if one player is able to do a 1000 forehand hit in a row without a single mistake, than that is a good mastering of that stroke. Good luck! You were not actually that far from doing that too, 2-4 more minutes and you will get the job done.
