my attempt at repairing the hybrid battery pack on a 2007 Toyota Camry. I am mechanically inclined, however have never worked on a hybrid battery. I will attempt to locate any bad cell and correct the issue (hopefully). Hope you enjoy watching, and please subscribe.

what did you use to test the quality of your battery? the one that can read the codes from 2:09. And can you share the link where to buy and how to use it. Thank !

It's an app called "fixit" and comes with the OBD insert. I DO NOT recommend it, even thou it will read the embedded codes. The app (service) is full of advertisements and they are constantly trying to sell you a service to "repair" your car.

i see you can buy brand new lithium cells for the older prius for 2k..then if you are a decent mechanic job is around 4 hours...can you do this with a 2007 camery? is it approx same size battery??? thinking cost would be a little more...thanks for sharing.

I get it. But that would be venturing into the unknown. I prefer staying with what the car was designed for.

Camry has Ni-Mh cells, completely different battery chemistry. Please do not attempt this. The battery Management system is not designed for lithium cells. I belive only the camry hybrid LE 2018 onwards has lithium, other trims have Ni-Mh, could be vice versa but everthing is different and nothing is inter-changeable.

What was your Camry doing when the check hybrid system light came on? Mine is stalling after a few minutes but start and drives fine after

Mine never stalled, it just went into limp mode while the check hybrid system was on

How much are you comfortable towing with this model? I have the same car that an 09.

I think Toyota (unofficially) allows up to 1000lb towing with the Camry hybrid. I towed approx 800lbs on a very small trailer 750 miles, with no issues.

Hello. I just completed the process and got my car up and running. The problem now is that the battery cooling fan is not working. Any reason as to what the problem can be?

We fix Hybrid vehicles for a living. Sometimes it is something as simple as forgetting to plug the connector back on. Cooking fam is not a big deal, when you replace it. Might as well clean the ducts too.

The cooling fan should only run if the computer detects a problem with the hybrid battery. Otherwise the cooling fan should not be running.

Hi, I recently removed my 07 Camry Hybrid battery as insctructed in many videos. I have been a mechanic for 30 years or so but not expericed in these. Cleaned the copper shims, reassembled and now there is no power to start the car, The light comes on and says, "Check Hybrid system" Any Ideas? Thank you!@@TheInspiringKhan

@@coreycoleman3032 Make sure the orange safety plug is reinstalled AND reinstalled correctly (should be tight and snap back into place, otherwise the traction battery will not deliver power, therefore engine starter will not engage. Also ensure 12v battery is in good shape and strong enough to run the electronics.
