Coming back to this video, I'm fairly certain that the diagram at 5:29 is inaccurate. Even if it were possible to spawn the o piece, placing it as shown in the diagram would not be possible because all of the nodes in the mino would be above row 20. This is also why you cannot end a Kirbtris with a single. I believe what Kirby meant was to place the j piece vertically upside down, (Like this: ⬛⬛ ⬛ ⬛) and then let the o piece spawn to clear a double. (The o piece spawns in rows 20 and 21, and columns 5 and 6) I'm kind of surprised that I didn't remember noticing this earlier, since the diagram clearly shows the o being placed in row 21. If you need proof of this actually in game, my first kirbtris was actually the way Kirby described: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fM6BocyDvrLTnKM.html Also, sorry if someone already pointed this out and I'm being redundant.

Watching that Kirbtris getting set up is like watching an art performance. A dance. Almost like Ballet!

Tetris is just one of those games that will simply never die off the only possible ways would either be that they screw up and anger everyone or that it just gets shut down which would royally piss everyone off

Oh yeah. Wumbo just did an Ultimatris for *87* lines. Kirby did the 21 lines KIRBTRIS in a VERSUS, but Wumbo just pushed the damage limit. 4 wide in Zone is deadly.

I'm disappointed that achieving an Ultimatris doesn't mean Enhance send you a free beta copy of the game

I watched this a year ago, and here I am again. Two things I always come back to are Tetris and Oneshot.

I was going to speculate 22 or 23 but you brought it up.. I figured 23 would be the max (top line + I piece for 3 over the limit.)

5:23 Techmino has a mode called stack_e. Basically, it's zone except: 1. It lasts until your next piece would cause you to top out, after which completed lines are cleared and it starts again. 2. There is no locking out. 3. Completed lines won't sink to the bottom. 4. Pieces spawn one row higher than in TEC. I've gotten 22 lines there (a lot easier when you have time to think) and the final piece was in fact a block.

I saw that video of trey harrison playing tetris effect for the first time and ive been playing tetris effect and havent gotten the perfectris even once since and now that ive seen the "keep 2 lines free" strat thats blown my mind to keep two lines free is insane to me a little

Looking back at this, a year ago, 66 attacks seems so high at the time, and that 21 seemed to be the limit. And now people are doing 22 lines, and 90+ attacks by doing 5 all clears back to back. Absolutely crazy.

So excited for this tomorrow

Technically if you're lucky enough you can theoretically get a 23 line clear. Get 19 lines on all columns except 3 For the 20th line use a line piece making it 23 lines and do so for all the sides. Use the focus button and try get to the top and get lucky enough for 3 line pieces Extremely unlikely but may happen. Disclaimer I do not know much about tetris but from the info I got from the video what I said should be possible

"best zone player" really depends on what you mean. Arguably the best use of zone is to use it as soon as you fill a quarter to get an octotris, this allows for the highest potential scores in journey mode. As for consistently getting a dodecahexatris and higher, then you want to fully fill your zone meter.

But how about a normal 4-w, is it worth it to do a kirbtris while you can do a much quicker 4-w massive combo

So this is the culmination of the og tetris attack meets actual tetris. Considering on double hard (hardest difficulty) at my prime I could sweep bowser in 30 seconds... this might be more my speed than NES Tetris. As I have a good bit of tetris 99 experience too so this is likely something I need for get.

Tried the game for about 2 hours, I love the VS modes, but i don't like the garbage throw, so I prefer the point attacks, an so, I fell on love with the NES VS Mode, it's by far the best new old tetris feeling :D

This zone battle thing reminds me of Tetris 99 I’ve seen a lot of pro Tetris 99 players one example that comes to mind is wumbotize idk if Kirby has ever played Tetris 99 but I’d like to see wumbotize and Kirby play zone battle since wumbotize has played Tetris 99 and has played Tetris effect so I’d say it would be a well balanced fight
