Power through? To what end? If it had been a higher quality puzzle with more unique pieces, yes. But the way that puzzle was built, maybe a team of people working together building rows could have done it as they could encourage each other.

Well, you started with an expectation that you wouldn't complete it, so right out of the gate, we knew you wouldn't do it. I thought maybe you'd just go through it, even if each didn't fit perfectly - half the battle is attitude, lol. But you were honest about how you felt and that was all that mattered. In the end, if you dont enjoy it, then why do it? So I am glad you stopped the impossible!

This puzzle seems like a serious missed opportunity for a good whimsy-cut puzzle with pieces shaped like ketchup bottles, tomatoes, apples, hearts, crosses, all manner of red things. It would have been a wonderful keepsake and probably a collectible. Instead, they really blew it by making it unimaginative, cheap, and impossible. I've only recently gotten into jigsaw puzzles, the whimsy-cut wooden ones with 400+ pieces ... and I'm disappointed that the only one I've given up on was the Clemens Habicht color gradient globe. I have an extremely low tolerance for sorting before I start in, and that puzzle demands a full sort. Also, half of it is green and blue, my least favorite colors. It seemed like a perfect match for me, and I can do challenging puzzles well. But there was no artwork, no design, nothing on it but false color matches that seemed "close enough" but still too far apart for me. (I have really, really good color vision, so even adjacent pieces seemed like they were a mile apart to me in hue.) If CH put out a spherical globe puzzle with actual artwork screened onto it, I would be in absolute heaven. I love the feel of the plastic pieces, I love how neatly they snap together, and I otherwise adore full-on 3D puzzles like the Bepuzzled ones (although all but one have way too few pieces to satisfy me). But that color gradient globe invariably ended up with me dumping the pieces out on my tablecloth, feeling like I was undergoing Chinese water torture for ten minutes, and then I put them right back into the box. I should have spent the money on a good Liberty or Nautilus wooden puzzle. TL;DR -- Serious missed opportunity by Heinz for a whimsy-cut puzzle, and I crap out on the CH color globe every single time because it has no design on it.

As a blind person who happens to be a puzzle enthusiast, your struggles in this video brought me so much joy. Because I am blind, all pieces of every puzzle always look the same to me. All the same color all the time. Finally I’m not alone and struggling! The strategies that you used to put this puzzle together is exactly how I put all of my puzzles together. I just try pieces over and over and over again until pieces fit together and then sometimes I have to rearrange them. I am sorry though that you struggled so much and it was very frustrating for you. Don’t forget that you are an amazing puzzler! Keep up the great work!

I was just thinking that with how poorly made this is, you could probably solve it with (literally) brute force - the pieces are so similar that you can just take the first piece that has roughly the right shape, force it in there, then move on to the next one. (basically doing it wrong on purpose) Horrible solution for a horribly designed puzzle.

@ca-ke9493

I honestly dont think the people who finished the puzzle took the time to make sure it perfectly fits. If a puzzle can be put together without pieces fitting exactly right, then i dont think it requires such intense scruntiny and you can probably just plonk any piece that kinda fits and finish it relatively quickly. Just consider the ill fitting pieces a manufacturing error.

I ran into a similar situation when attempting my one puzzle when I got back into puzzling earlier this year. It's the movie poster for Jaws. While not all of the pieces are the same, the edges are all solid black and often times I would find several pieces that would appear to fit together. Also, the sky (outside of the title) was 81 pure white pieces that were also all cut very similarly. I'd get a section of the sky together and then run out of pieces that would fit the next space. While the puzzle isn't probably impossible, it got so frustrating that I had to give up on it. I did box it back up with the edges/borders and title/word pieces already separated, but I just needed to move on to some of the other puzzles that I got.

I once worked on an Elvis puzzle that was entirely grey scale. It was HORRIBLE! I worked on it for 3 days before packing it back up....it was literally making me angry. It was the total opposite of what I should have been feeling...there was no joy at all! It wasn't worth it!

I so understand your decision. Impossible was my attempt to do a 1000 piece ghost crab on a beach. It had the crab, a bit of sand and about 800 pieces of different shades of white. I gave up trying every single piece. Enjoying your channel very much. Greetings from 🇩🇪

Impossible! I think many of your viewers just like your style of content, your personality, your smile and enjoy hearing your perspective, regardless of whether or not you finish the puzzle.

I really really really like your idea how to do this puzzle and it's not cheating at all because you have only your wits to figure out how to get these pieces back together and whatever method you choose to do it that's called being smart

Yes I have! It also had a puzzle with a large section of solid color that felt Impossible. I decided to move on for the same reason even after sorting by shape - I had better things to do with my time! I fully support your decision haha!

Thank you. Now I don't feel so bad about not finishing an almost all black puzzle. My issue was that multiple pieces could fit in one place. I felt it was IMPOSSIBLE to know if the fit was correct. However, I bagged up the color pieces with the thought that I would return to that puzzle at a later date. Now I don't feel so bad. Thanks 😊

Karen. I hadn’t worked on a serious jigsaw puzzle since my first year of college over 40 years ago. Because of you, I have purchased six jigsaw puzzles that I liked from your channel. I just did the first one. I did the silver Krypt. It was so much fun because there was a decent amount of variation. My friends thought I was crazy, but the interior circle on the Krypt was so rewarding. I agree with you that this puzzle is just cheap quality and terrible design. Keep up the awesome work. FYI, the Krypt was easier when I copied the key sheet and marked pieces off with pink highlighter.

Thank you for finally tackling it, I’ve being asking for This video since day one. Too bad it was such an impossible endevour, i probably would have quit before you did. I have only quit a puzzle once, it was a Ravensburger all grey Paris scene with only a red umbrella on it, and the rest was just this universe of sad gray pieces. I gave it away to my nephew and he surprised me by actually putting all together during this quarantine.

This video is so reassuring. One of the puzzles I bought during quarantine was so pretty but i couldn't finish. Half of it was basically all sky. It was hard and not fun. I've felt guilty for two years. I'm new to puzzles and didn't realize that we just weren't right for each other, that puzzle and I. And that's fine.
