It's much worse in the CK2 mod. Not only do buildings make you barely any money, there are loads of events that strip you of large portions of your wealth. E.g. you have to pay to educate your children when they turn 12, marrying off your daughters often requires you to pay a dowry to the husband's family, and 3 years worth of your income is taken from your treasury and divided amongst your children as inheritance whenever your character dies. Making (and saving) money is _much_ easier in this mod.

I mean, the alternate is mandatory oversight of mods by developers.

It's their own fault. They took YEARS to make this mod and they wasted time on non-essential features. They didn't need to reinvent the game, they just needed to make a GOT map and events, plus a few unique mechanics to represent certain elements.

@@arandombard1197 I gotta say that I personally am quite happy THAT they are re-inventing the game. If development continues on like this year and in this quality in a couple of years it will be in an entirely different dimension than ck2. And even now I feel like it is the better game. There are some areas where ck2 is superior but there are also many others in which ck3 wins hands down.

There's actually quite a few houses that can revive their dead dynastic kinsmen. House Oldflowers can restore House Gardener in the Reach, while Houses Bolling and Wensington can restore House Durrandon in the Stormlands.

I hate it, there needs to be a balance between lore and playability. They should have kept vanilla settings and just tweaked it slowly over time imo

Do you have the game on steam? if you do you just need to download the mod on the steam workshop, launch ck3 then go to the playsets section and add the mod to your current playset

the domain limit makes a lot of sense lorewise. In the lore you dont see these lords holding a ton of castles, so it makes sense. In vanilla you can easily have a huge domain limit, to the point that i think the CK3 devs even mentioned nerfing that in future updates in one of the dev diaries. The major complaint i have however is that they only allow you to make duchy titles if you control directly the duchy capital. This screw me a lot since i was above my vassal limit as a lord paramount but couldnt create any duchies to give my vassals because my vassal controlled the capital instead of me. So it is a bit contraditory. They dont give too much domain limit (which makes sense) but then made more difficult to create a duchy title, which since you cant hold too many castles, you need to give them to vassals which can lead to too many vassals. About the money i dont think it is a big issue. I mean, my first run was in the Iron Islands with the Harlaws, the terrain is not that good but still on my best holding there I was making more than 10 gold and on my worst, about 3-4 gold. And when i overthrew the Greyjoys and become Lord Paramount of the Iron Islands i was making 30+ gold, without any special building, so is not that big of a deal. The vassals do contribute to that, but on my 4 buildings i was easily making more than 20 gold. Then you join the vassal taxes, take the expenses (MaA ´, court positions, etc...) and i get those 30+. So my guess is that they reduced the gold you make (compared to vanilla) to ballance it. As it is you can already make a lot of gold, if they put the values of the vanilla, that profit would increase to crazy (maybe unrealistic) amounts.

Its frustating... i highly recommend to everyone to go on the files to change the settings (Copy them before just to have a backup, just in case) Than change them back to 5/stewardship and the money gainned per building. More difficult bcs there is quite a few, but at elast the game will the more like Vanilla

Not that big of a deal, you can still play tall as a Duke. My stewardship Duke rulers have 6 to 8 domain limit earning 35 gold per month, that's actually way higher than average because the nerfs affect the AI more than the player since they don't know how to play around it.

You have to click on the bottom left on the blank portrait when you've selected the ruin. When you do it'll open a menu and you can restore the ruin for a bit of gold.
