It is very hard to do (I was only able to achieve this feat once), but if you time it right you can throw a lethal or tactical and pull your parachute before you hit the ground.

This is my friggin favorite challenge. But also, whichever one they give you. So if it's the basilisk, you're in trouble. Perks from boxes, floor loot, but no other guns

There are hidden shipwrecks on the southern middle part of the map, some visible on the map and some hidden, you have to go there for dmz missions.

If you try this again try the P890! It has less bullets and a bit more recoil, however it does way more damage, which may help against SMGs and ARs. (P890 is another common starter pistol.)
