Dear Alan, Again exactly what I needed validated. Thank you so much! When I look, I see I am ever present, I don't see a point in time when I appeared. Also I can't see how I could possibly witness my disappearance. Also I can't see where I end therefore I seem without end or borders. Also I notice that no matter what has come to pass, I remain the same, untouched and unblemished. When I notice all of this there is expansiveness and immense happiness. Yet this noticing ability waxes and wanes. I am so often swept by experience. Taken away from this realm of peace by thoughts, feelings, sensations and perceptions. Why?
@dianesoh96363 жыл бұрын
Dear Usha. You could also ask why, as well as being swept away by thoughts, experiences and so on, we are also swept back by the "gravitational pull" of awareness. I've heard Rupert saying that as we notice pure awareness more and more, that pull is more frequently noticed and eventually instead of us "visiting", we move in. That's kind of how he puts it, so we don't need to ask why anything, just keep noticing, just keep going there, abiding there. It feels a calm way of being. 🕊
@usharajeswari25273 жыл бұрын
@@dianesoh9636 Dear Diane, Yes I too have heard Rupert say this and even in this compilation he says it. It is just that I am tired of being swept away. Of late I have been having some real challenging perceptions. I really really need to remember my Real Self. It is only out of that desperation I asked why. However I will try and abide like you say till instead of going there on weekends I will move in! Thank you for the loving advice! 😍

I wonder what are Rupert's thoughts on the awareness during anesthesia? Anyone have ideas about that? I love this idea of awareness
@alanneachell90923 жыл бұрын
He would say that it's the same as deep sleep. Not the absence of awareness but rather the awareness of absence. Absence of objects is timeless.
I know someone (not me) that has been meditating for over 30 years. She experiences meditation as intense energies in the brain that she likens to a train moving through her head. What do you think of this? I have just started but think that resting the mind in awareness is the goal. That our true nature is peace.
@alanneachell90923 жыл бұрын
Experiences in meditation are just that, experiences. Awareness is not an experience, it is what we are. 💕🙏

Although Rupert is one of my favorite teachers, I don’t think he’s correct in saying “the big awakening experience is never going to happen.” While some only experience the gradual deepening that Rupert often refers to, others most certainly do have “big experiences.”

Just a anal p0int here, "Perception" as visual seems dubious. Again, just a little stoned here, but, I don't know why there is this destinction. "Perception" sounds a lot like "persona" and persona is from the, sonar, word, a mask used by the greeks to project sound out into the crowd by actors in a play. And also, maybe, they had the face of a charachter or the person the actor (us?, the real Self?).
@alanneachell90922 жыл бұрын
Yeah he has to used dualistic words as that's all we have. Perception may imply a perceiver for some. 🙏
