The bravest people I see are the ones that open their figures and then play with them outside in the mud. Seeing people take pictures of their joytoy outside makes me kinda envious, I spent good money on that, I might ruin it if I do!

I Agree 100%, explore the articulation, make them interact with other figures even (specially) if they are not from the same universe, get Vespas, dirt bikes, dinosaurs, build a diorama, etc, etc. Action figures rule.

I used to be a MOC collector and it was exhausting. I was always keeping up with the value and what I should get next. I have been reformed and no longer view myself as a collector and more of a creator. Great advice!

And I believe you will be absolutely right, I believe I would love opening my figures again, I would never keep a figure in its packaging as I kid. I do both. World building gets rid of the stress. Seeing them on card, on my wall is like being a kid, seeing them on the racks, right before I stole them. I don’t know how, but I NEVER got caught. Chased once, but never caught. It’s only gonna be the gems that end up going for a lot on eBay. That’s the fun. :) the hunt, the find, then the bragging rights. It’s not humanly possible for me to put a StarWars vintage card back in the trash. But…. Who can’t ever open a figure? You gotta open every now, and then right???

I open my toys, but the really rare ones with cool packaging I leave in the box. I like the aesthetic of having a small 'toy store' in my house. Makes me feel like a kid at the store!

Yes, giving figuers life is what you do with them. That's how I see it. I have a table+ full of sealed figures. Not because I collect sealed (I do have Devilman Lady and Siren topless sealed and for play but those are rare and beautiful, oh and a sealed Tekla from War Planets) but because of time (fulltime job, 2 kids/wife). I also feel I appreciate the design and work that's put into the figure way more if I "pose" them a lot. I'm on team play when it comes to Action Figure Toys in short.

Yeah let them breathe I say...I do know a couple of big collectors would try and get 2 on the card..one for the wall in a starcase and one for display...that's great but my walls are behind display shelves full of open figures...your world is looking great mate..cheers 🍺🍺🍻

I personally love to collect them both ways. if i can get a figure that has a packaging that lets me put the figure back for storage later its great, like Joytoy's line of figures.

I suppose it wouldn't do if we all collected the same way but I'm definitely on the opening side of figures over keeping them sealed. Yes I loved the feeling of seeing those carded figures on the shelves in days of yore but that feeling was always just the buildup to the main event, getting to unpack and play with the toys. Also you shouldn't worry about the occasional hot topic especially when its presented as your opinion and not "the only opinion". I hold very different opinions about modern Star Wars to yourself although I still rank the original trilogy above every other release. Your channel has inspired me to try some 3.75 world building and I am planning to start with a cantina using the Nevarro diorama and customise and build from there. Keep up the good work and keep building, peace.

I always open up figures, posing them around and playing around with them. Putting them on a shelf with some other figures in some nice scene, occasionally changing up the scene. I never liked sealed collecting if i like the package, only really vc cardbacks ill keep em around and put them on a nice spot.

I used to be an out of box collector, and display them, but once I got way too much, I needed a safe spot for the ones i dont display anymore, so they eventually went back in their respective boxes.

I love your channel, I started as a loose collector in the 2000's with Power of the force to Attack of The Clones, I had some cool Jabba's palace and Clone gunship dioramas including vintage Star Wars stes. I wish I had the energy like you to continue it now but all Im doing now is in box MOC black series, to me its like each figure is frozen in carbonite in the box on the wall with a beam of light coming down on it. My collecting will be coming to an end with the newly announced plastic free packaging plus there is no youtuber that collects inbox MOC. My collection fate is sealed that is why I enjoy watching fresh new collecting content like yours, world building is great to watch and be a part of. Thank you for your videos.

I OPEN my collection. Sorry but I've opened Super Treasure Hunts, 1 of 25 figures. Whoops. LOL! I display and enjoy my items. The argument is they lose value? To who? Not me, and I am the one who owns them. I don't plan on selling them. So I choose to enjoy them. To each his own, but I've been bashed for my view on it and honestly it frustrates me. Considering where I live we have 20-1 scalpers vs. collectors and all they do is cause mayhem and destroy shelves and pegs. So I apologize for being salty but scalpers have ruined this hobby for everyone!

I really loved this video... It's a double edged sword.... I opened stuff on both sides 6 inch BLACK SERIES or 3.75 figures depending on my mood... I don't have the best collection in the world... But it's my collection... Some are allowed to breathe others stay in there plastic prison... I don't have a lot of space...so I open what I want to open when I feel like it... Great video

Great video! I'm one that's torn on opening or keep them in box. I've already open a few and they do look amazing on shelf. I will say that I'm leaning more towards opening them because storage is definitely an issue and It's a little overwhelming. Wish me luck ✌🏽

Yes..... I need therapy. LoL! I have a lot of loose figures, but I just can't open them new!!!!!! I did by 2 Landos, one to open, one to keep sealed. Still have not opened him yet....... I may have to do a video of me opening him just for you!!!!! It is not about money, I was tought at a very early age to care for everything. Hell, I still have just about every toy I have ever got. I do agree, don't hold back! Do what makes you happy!!!!!

A friend of mine does that with multiple sealed. Lol I open up but when not using store in the boxes. Like temporary dioramas.

I open my stuff. Only stuff I don't open is stuff my husband wants to keep MOC/MIB or my original G1 Transformers and convention toys. Most MOC/MIB don't hold their value much.

The one thing I've yet to hear is a moc collector say they opened some of their figs and after opening and playing/messing around with their figs they end up deciding to go back to being a moc collector! Not saying there aren't any out there, I jus hvnt seen or heard of it yet! I HV seen moc collector say after opening a fig or several figs they decided to NOT be moc collectors ever again and now they open everything they buy!

Love to hear your views. Since I started getting back into collecting, I have been getting at least 2 of each TVC figure. One to keep carded, one to open (or more if an army builder). The carded figures have started to take up so much space I am not keeping as many carded. I have a backlog of extras, I might make a video of me ripping some open!

I’ve never understood MOC collectors. I’m not trying to knock them but I’ve never understood. I’m always wanting to make scenes and ideas and have a life like you said.

The life at the end of a MOC figure = is for profit or capital gain. No matter what anybody says they collect them not for resale, it will be for sale... eventually. Especially when that MOC figure is ripe, or they ran out of space. MOC takes up way more room than loose figures. Hey YOLO .... (you only live once)

I do both, i open most of my figures (90%) but if i think the packaging adds something to displaying them ill hang it on my wall.

We live in a time where figures have never been more poseable and never been more expensive. I don’t understand the logic of paying a premium for a highly articulated figure only to leave it in the package.

You have to smell your figures after you open them it’s a must for me

I struggled sometimes with whether to open or leave carded. So I needed a plan. It's kinda impractical to leave them carded and space is always an issue, so I picked a number. 60. Super 7 are Always hard to open, btw lol. If I have 200 total figures, 60 are carded. If I have 1000 figures, 60 are carded, 60 😎

I am a in box and out of box collector.i mosty open my black series to display unless I buy a expensive one.as far as tvc I leave them on card but I do have some displayed.i recently bought the archive aniken that I payed 115 bucks for so I can't open him.i also have a foil card mint grievous tvc that I payed 100 for and I will not open either.
