The bigger picture is this. She knew she wasnt going to be alive much longer and was behaving this way and pushing him to near perfection was for him to be able to sustain hi self once she was gone. The problem is, this scars her child and he reached the boiling point where she saw the love in his eues for her fade at such a young age. Poor guy.
