If you leave the peels out you will very quickly have a fruit fly problem in addition to your ant problem.

The better solution is to make your own ant colony and attack them with your own ants

I used to follow the trails to the cracks they’re coming in at and fill in the cracks with tape until I could get some caulk or spot filler. Best way to prevent ants (and help your heat bill) is to just get rid of the entry points

Vinegar it’s the only thing helped us to get rid of them. I dilute white vinegar(3 parts water and 1 part vinegar) in my vacuum/mop cleaner and few drops of essential oil for good smell and few drops of dish soap. It’s effective not only to get rid of ants but any kind of bugs that crawl in from outside. Every time I clean I find tons of dead ants beetles, giant outdoor roaches or spiders. It’s summer they crawl in from everywhere.

Vinegar with an essential oil worked best for me. I usually keep my place clean, but at the end of this summer, these ants have come out of nowhere .

Don't interfere with the trail!! it contains them to an area to be dealt with.. when you mess up the trail, they get very confused and you'll get them in new places.

I can vouch for the lemon juice method. But I didn’t dilute it. I squeezed the juice straight from lemon to the crack where the ants were coming from. It really does work

The lemon will not kill the ants. They will actually just have the ants move. You can then if your aunt keeper grab the queen with workers and eggs or you can kill the queen if you’re trying to kill the colony, but it will take some hours to wait.

3 parts sugar to 1 part borax in a container with a lid with a small hole (like a raising canes cup or make a hole) the large ants will drink the liquid and they will take the food to the young and the young will give it to the queen who dies.

Guys, it don’t work 😭 unless the ones at my house are built different… yeah you’re gonna need chemicals. I am a stay at home mom, you can clean constantly but they’re attracted to water and any little mess or spill. I highly recommend using a poison that they bring back to the colony, also cleaning with pine sol, vinegar, and rosemary oil 😊

I like to use peppermint oil

✨ PEPPERMINT OIL ✨ that’s all you need! Mix 30 drops in a spray bottle with 2 tsp of dish soap, a tsp of sea salt and some water. The dish soap is needed to mix the oil into your water solution.

You can use a mixture of 1 to 1 apple cider vinegar and water. Wipe it over their trail with a paintbrush and it will overpower the scent trail
