This guy is from Wild Birds Unlimited, which is pretty expensive, IMHO. You can find feeders of all types on Amazon. I got really pretty glass ones for $25 and they work great!

I believe the rule of thumb is June 1 to Sept 1.

I'm in Central Ohio. They usually start showing up here between April 20 to early May. There was one little female that showed up every year for 5 years, between April 20 to 23. Someone on another video, said they show up in her area of Michigan, the last week of April. Good luck to you...

@@1SaltyGirl I keep my feeders up until mid-October. I've had them migrating through and at my feeders in central Ohio as late as October 5th.

Is it blocking the birds?? Because being able to feed bees as well, is also a good thing since both spe ies are being affected by habitat lost

i found taking a cotton ball with a few drops of tea tree oil wiped on the feeder keeps bees away

You can buy or make an ant moat :) Look up a lady named Robbie (search: Robbie Hummingbirds). She has DIY tutorials.

Hi Alicia, I commented on another video explaining I don't have friends, hobbies etc and I saw a hummingbird out here and I'm assuming there must be more. I just moved to Vegas Henderson, and I would be happy to see more of these lil babies 😀 I'm not sure what plants will work for me yet and as I'm writing this I just thought "oh well I guess I can purchase a grown hibiscus or flowers" but in the mean time to attract some birds, would it be ok? If I change the feeder often :)
