That’s a ingersoll Rand air compressor used to supply compressed air for the mine. The compressed air is used to operate the rock drills called buzzies and later on the jack leg drill. Awesome video and I’m a hard rock miner by trade..

Thanks for responding! It’s pretty amazing all of that old mining equipment left in those mountains of Colorado. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Spent 3 days riding out of a beautiful cabin up there a few years ago, a month after you guys actually. Most fun I've had with any kind of vehicle ever. Coming back in the rain at night down the mountain from the pass at 50mph screaming into the void, I need to get some more of that place. Thanks for the blip of nostalgia, looks like you guys had a fun trip, stay safe!

We stay at Taylor Park every year. Love the ride to Tin Cup and over it to St. Elmo. Lots of excellent rides in Taylor! Great video 😊

Hi Penny, Yup I agree a lot of good riding there in the Tayler park area. We haven’t been back since this trip. Thanks for watching appreciate the comment!

We’ll be back July 25-Aug 7. We camp by Taylor Pass entrance for two weeks. We’re from Topeka and have a 2019 Honda Rancher. Our goal this year is Flag Mtn (almost made it last year). But after Tin Cup, Hancock, Tellurium, Cumberland and Crystal, that was enough. The path to Tin Cup at Mirror Lake was under water. It was up over the foot pegs! But still loved it!!

Penny Leath Peterson . You’re from Topeka, haha small world we are just west of Basehor . LOL. Have a good trip out there hope you make it to flag Mountain it’s worth the trip. Some incredible views from there!

G Morning Rob. Not sure what you mean could really go for some of that about now?? I assume you all are covered in snow right now?? I think you're the king of the mine exploring videos. Always look forward to the next installment! Maybe you can get that XMR out in the snow so we can watch that video!! Thanks for checking out the video and commenting Rob greatly appreciated!!
@RobFarrowATV7 жыл бұрын
Ya, we have about 2' of snow and 30 below this morning! I could go for some Colorado riding, Love it! XMR is apart awaiting some stuff and I've been recovering from a Concussion for a month now, so no riding but at least I still have some videos left to upload!
@kcatv95567 жыл бұрын
WOW OK well... First off a Concussion that doesn't sound like fun. Hope you'er doing OK and will make a full recovery my friend!! That stuff can be scary. That time you rolled the Kawi into the ditch you'er lucky you didn't get hurt then!! 2ft of snow and 30 below would shut this town down!! We had 10 below for a few days. A couple of weeks before Christmas that's about as cold as it gets around here. All right Rob hope you get well soon and get back out there!!

GrowingForeveryOne .. why thank you I think you're the only one who's commented on that!? Yes it is amazing how they got all that Mining equipment up in there back in the day for sure!! I can only imagine that stuff in use back then incredible!! There is so much history to see in that area amazing! Thanks for that comment and for watching!

No problem, i am actually going to be going camping there this weekend :D, really looking forward to it. If you every go back pay attention to the woods, there are tons of hidden cabins back in there its quite a walk to most of them but worth it :D

They would roll it off the train right onto their wagon and then the horses muscle it up the mountain and hope nothing breaks.

BAHAHAHA!!! Love the goggle wearing dog! Toooooo FUNNY! Gotta hate it when the lips aren't in sync with the brain - lol - (remnants) Love checking out those old mining sites and imagining what it was like way back when. That old pump(?) looked like it was made out of some quality steel. Considering the weight of it, can you imagine what it would be worth just as scrap alone? WOW! Surprised it's still sitting there. "Golllly, I'm gonna go to the bathroom after this" and "Burrrp, ooops, sorry 'bout that" - hahaha! That jet fly-by was loud! What did the "Property of USA" sign say about the cabin at the very end? Excellent video of awesome country! Thanx for sharin'!
@kcatv95567 жыл бұрын
Hey ..Q.. Yeah I think my brain is not in sync sometimes. lol!! I too like checking out old mining sites and imagining how it was back then. How people lived and worked in the area interesting! The sign just stated Property of United States and that theft and vandalism would be prosecuted. What's left of those structures and that machine equipment is all Property of US State parks. It would probably be a federal offense to remove any of that stuff from those sites. That's probably why it's all still there. Golllly!!! I'm glad u enjoyed the video and thanks for watching!! That jet fly over was load for sure!! Thanks for the comments Q appreciate it!! As always Going to ck out your home page and get those shirts for the wife and I

Thumbs up! Great ride. What is your opinion of the accommodations at Holt's? Hope they had a place to do laundry LOL! Taylor Park is definitely on my bucket list.
@kcatv95567 жыл бұрын
Hey B p... well my opinion on Holt's ha ha it's definitely not five star but it has the basics. Place to sleep and hot shower. I think those cabin were built in the 70's and have not been updated since. They'er a little rundown but with people in and out with dirty clothes and boots you'er not going to put anything nice in there. As far as laundry room not sure if they have one or not we brought plenty of clothes so wasn't needed. Yeah we had thought about doing a Colorado trip for a few years before we made it happen. It's definitely a fun and beautiful place to ride!! Thanks for checking out our videos and all of your comments greatly appreciated!!

I’m guessing the randrill, New York thing is a pump or part for a gold mine
@kcatv95564 жыл бұрын
tOm the bOmb ..Yup another guy commented too said it was an air pump basically for the pneumatic drill for the mines. It would be incredible to see equipment like that actually in use! Thanks for watching!

With all the trails I assume the Garmin is the best way to not get lost? Cell phone coverage I assume is limited? I know it has been 3 years since you shot this video, unsure if there has been improvements?

The Garman does work well I’m wanting to get the backcountry app on an android device. That supposed to be pretty cool just haven’t gotten it yet. Thanks for checking out the video!

the machine you asked about is an air compressor. It was made by Rand Co. now Ingersoll-Rand. It was used to compress air for drilling blast holes in mine.
@kcatv95566 жыл бұрын
Thank you Charles .. Amazing that is the Ingersoll Rand Company of today. I own many automotive tools such as impacts and such that are Ingersoll Rand Thanks for commenting greatly appreciate it!!

You are welcome. I have to their factory three times,for training on their construction equipment. Looks like you get over most of U.S. riding. Have you been to Michigan? They have over 8000 miles of trails. I go there at least once a year from Ky.
@kcatv95566 жыл бұрын
Charles Owens .. we haven’t done any ridding in Michigan. We’ve been west, east , south but we haven’t went been north to do any ridding. If you don’t mind me asking what are the names of the trail systems in Michigan? We are actually headed back to Hatfield & McCoy this September.
