I grew up to Jim Fyffe's calls. He died in 2002 and I never thought it'd be the same. Rod filled his shoes brilliantly while still having his own style. Now that Rod is gone I don't know what the future holds, but I know someone will step up and create his own legacy. Life is short and you never know what tomorrow holds. Any of us sitting here could be gone tomorrow. Don't forget that and live your life accordingly.

When we lost Jim Fyffe, I was heart broken. I didn't think anyone could fill his shoes, and Rod had a couple year learning curve, but he is, to me, one of the best in the nation right now. His calls in 2010 and 2013 still ring in my ears. He has well surpassed my expectations, and I am so grateful for Rod.

As an Arizonan and an outsider looking into the sports world, I never knew Rod nor have listened to him at the time, but he makes better calls than most NFL commentators as far as I've heard. He seems like a man who loves the sport and loves his team, and his voice just adds to the experience even years after. I hope he's still making great calls after his departure. Best wishes from the Salt River Valley to him and to Auburn.

I've always loved the Wes Byrum Gator Chomp. My favorite Iron Bowl is 2009(Why'd Mark Ingram cry at the Heisman award, he heard Josh Bynes was in thecrowd), even though it was a loss, but the heart that the Tigers showed in that game made me buy season tickets the next year and say " Here it comes". War Eagle! Here it comes AGAIN!

Rollo Tancredson I was out at the state fair in 2007 in Montgomery ,AL when we played Florida that night... I kept up with the game on ESPN on my phone...about the start of the 4th quarter I found the Direct TV booth and about 25 fans gathered around one tv...needless to say we all watched in unbelief as Byrum ran in front of the Gator bench doing the chomp!!!
