The Auchentoshan distillery lies in the Scottish Lowlands at the shores of the River Clyde. It is one of the few Scottish distilleries that triple distils its Whisky. The distillery was built in the year 1800 by a man named John Bulloch. He named the distillery Duntocher distillery. After the Duntocher distillery went bankrupt in 1822, his son continued the business and registered the Auchentoshan distillery in 1823. From this point on the Auchentoshan distillery was a legitimate distillery in the United Kingdom. So the official date when Auchentoshan was founded is 1823. All the preceding production cannot be officially confirmed.
We were allowed to visit the Auchentoshan Distillery and got exciting insights that we don't want to withhold from you.

Absolutely quality video. The history part was great, and Auchentoshan is the only distillery tour I got super drunk at. I drank whisky at every stage, from the wash, the different distilled liquids, and then a few whisky’s in every room, ending in the tasting room. Basically I asked if I could try everything and they said yes. I even got to bottle my own bottle of oloroso single cask, that was actually incredible. 59.5% 12 year old. One of the greats back in 2016 imo. I even got to try a 32 year old. Distilled 1979 and bottled 2012, oloroso cask, 50.5%. Fantastic dram. Edit: 33 to 32.

The quality of these videos has gone up lately, great video! Also I always love the switch from yelling near the stills to the silence in the warehouses 😁

Had the pleasure of doing the Auchentoshan distillery tour about 5 years ago. Did a “fill your own” bottle from the warehouse and it was what can only be described as a sherry monster. Absolutely incredible bottle that savoured over a year. Would highly recommend a visit :-)
