The Audi RS3 is 1 years old! How much will it's first service cost Olly?
Olly takes the RS3 to Stansted Audi for its first year service, to find out if there are any problems and how the RS3 has stood up to TWO track days and thousands of miles of driving... what will they find?!
Big shoutout to Stansted Audi, lovely garage with great facilities, friendly staff and a very fast and efficient service!
Top Tip! When Olly was registering for the service, he advises to make sure to search around a little bit to find potentially a lower service cost! The Audi website is excellent for this!

Not too bad really then. I hate service time! Quick question Olly did your pal with the Jag XE S sell it or still own it? Has he had any issues that you know of since ownership?

I still have it! I’ve had it for 2.5 years now and done 25k miles and had no mechanical issues at all. I have upgraded the brakes though, we have a video coming out this weekend on it…

@@edduerden9257 Thanks for the reply Ed! I’ve been looking at some later 380’s and a facelift 2.0 300 Sport AWD but I’m sold on the V6 really. Good to hear it’s been reliable it’s another tick in the box. My only concern was the supercharger shaft coupler to the pulley can wear and cause a clicking on idle and a loud clunk on engine shut off but I think I’ve been doing far to much research into “what if’s“ and should just buy one and enjoy it. Thanks again for the response and look forward to the upload.

I've had access to a lot of JLR products, so thought I'd give my experiences. The first X-Type was 08 plate bought in 2016 with ~80k miles and sold 12 months later at ~100k. Had a cracked rear spring during ownership but that's probably age/mileage related. Then on to a XJ (13 plate) bought in 2017 at 30k and sold 2 1/2 years later at 60k. Zero issues during ownership. Next up was 66 plate F-Pace S 3.0 s/c petrol bought in 2019 at 10k and sold 9 months later at 15k. No issues during ownership. Lastly the 67 plate Range Rover SVA bought in 2020 at 40k and currently sitting at ~55k - no issues to date. I'm fortunate in that I regularly use my mate's cars. 2014 XF-S 3.0d bought in 2018 at 69k and sold 9 months later (due to company car) at 79k. A minor oil leak and failed door handle, which I believe is a common fault. 59 plate X-Type bought in 2021 at 50k and sold 6 months later at 55k. No issues 66 plate XJ 3.0d portfolio bought in 2021 at 50k and sold 6 months later at 60k. No issues 66 plate XJ-R bought in 2022 at 20k and currently at 27k with no issues. So to summarise, if you look after them they're surprisingly reliable. They do have their quirks and the infotainment can be a bit rubbish! Get the InControl Touch Pro if you can as it's marginally better than the standard InControl Touch! If you get the larger 10" screen you can generally get a software upgrade to allow CarPlay / Android Auto. For the petrol S's and R's there's known problems with timing chains. This seems to be more prevalent in the higher mileage V8's but I think the V6's can suffer too, albeit less common. I believe this was fixed or improved around 2016 and none of mine have had any issues. Other than that the old school petrol engines seem to be pretty good! I'd say go for one!

... and you have also run your very educated JLR eye over Ed's XE S as well!
