On my car an 05 there is an extra screw near the top of the seat belt, it's hidden behind the belt trim, prise off the round cap remove the screw and pull away at the top to reveal the second screw holding the rear panel in place. It must have been missing on the demo car. BTW my non bose amp was on the left side, built into the sub woofer.

I have the same car with the Bose system but the sound quality is quite poor as if the amp is not working. I notice there is no indication or light on, on the amp to show it is actually working. I put in a 2nd amp but I have the same result. Wondering what could be wrong as I had thought the sound was much better when the car was newer.

So is this basically the same process for the opposite side, for the bose sub removal?

The sub is located on the opposite side, but getting access to it via removing the trim panel is the same yes.

My factory fitted radio comes on but there is no sound. Ive checked the fuses and was wondering if i have a dead amp.

@Darren Powell It was indeed a dead amp i managed to source one from Lithuania for 50 quid. Turns out the window seal leaked at some point and dripped into the amp the contacts were green. If you do not have a leak on the window seal i would try cleaning the connections to the amp. Its nice to finally hear some sound after a year of none 😌

No, the Bose system is an optional extra.

It depends on how the vehicle was spec'd from the factory, it could be either type.

Hi.. I have a A3 8P 1,6 sportsback from december 2006. The subwoofer is there, but no amp.. Do you know if some models didn’t come with this?

Hi, it will only have the amp if you have the Bose system.

Does standar speaker have same wiring with BOSE speaker?! or you have to change also the wiring ?!

The wiring is different, so you would have to change the whole loom.

We don't know how to power it up off the vehicle. If there is a fault within the unit it may show up on a diagnostic scan via VCDS or similar.

@@BestyBoyNope, didn’t find one, i changed my speakers and added a new amp, had to test cable by cable to find the front and rear speakers with a tone generator

I was looking for a comfort module in this place(have problem with central lock and window regulator not working in rear right door) but found Boose amplifier instead. Are there any modules behind amplifier or I have to look for it somewhere else? Thanks for sharing knowledge.
