Legit! Took me a few minutes longer, but only because I didn’t have a stubby driver for the screws inside the glove box! Thanks

Thank you, this video was very helpful. Purchased the entire fan assembly for $35 on Amazon. I replaced my fan in less than one hour. I did not remove the glove box. Simply recline passenger seat, lay with your back on the seat and put your head in the foot well. You will need to wear a headlamp to see the screws and have both hands free. Safety goggles are a must!!! It also helps to have an assistant because it’s tough to grab tools, screws that fall, etc. plus it will go quicker. Good luck, you.,, yes, you who is reading this, you can do it!!!

Thanks for the video... No need to remove the glove box, just the lower cover and the blower can come off. Did my 2009 Q7 today morning.

Thank you for this video my A/C stopped working in my Q7 and I was able to remove the blower and clean and lubricate it and now it works! Mine had about 8 screws holding the blower in, took maybe an hour or so to fix it.

Thanks! I fixed mine. One suggestion: I did mine without removing connections for glove box, I just set the those thing on the side. This will save you some time. Also, there were like 7 or 8 screws (not 4) holding the blower.

Hi, I just installed a new blower that I got on ebay for $50 and it worked. Although I could get only 4 out of 7 screws back on but so far so good. Thanks for your video helped me a lot

Changed out the blower motor on my 2011 Q7, no problem. When I removed the glove box I just put it to the side and sat it on a block of wood to remove tension from the wires. It worked for me. I picked up an oem blower motor at Halsey imports here in Portland for $191

Actually realy grateful for the video, saved me 300$+ at least :) Mine did the exact same whistling noise until a couple of days of really hot weather after which it could barely blow any air at all and was making an audible purring noise. Thought it was probably beyond repair but still decided to give it a go. Gave it a proper airhosing and used lots of regular lock oil (only one available for me) on it. Turning the ignition on it was instantly working on full power again and not making any sort of noises anymore . Great information on how to avoid uselessly replacing things that only need maintenence :) Thanks Man !

Great video, thank you for the info. I'll just mention that you can try to repair these, but why bother when replacement units are under $50 each on Amazon right now. Not sure it's worth going through all of that when $50 will fix it (until that one goes out too... not sure why these units inevitably fail, whether OEM or aftermarket). I'll be installing the 3rd unit on my 2013 Q7 this weekend and needed to come back for a refresher lesson!

I'm assuming the grease worked and you didn't have to replace it. I've got a Q5 and mine was squeaking last winter but stopped in the spring. Sure enough, it's got cold again and the noise has returned. It looks like a very simple job.

After a while the sound came back, not as bad as before but enough to bother me. I ended up replacing it with a new blower that I got from parts.audiusa.com , I'm a happy camper now. I would say if you can afford it, buy the new blower and replace it since you are opening things up anyway, but if your budget is tight due the grease fix.

Hi there- How did you determine it was the motor? Mine was making a squealing noice and now has completely stopped blowing. How do you know it's not a sensor or control unit? Thanks!

Just swapped the blower motor out in my 2010 Q7; took 40 minutes start to finish without pulling the glove box. Just be sure to have a 5.5mm socket and extensions for the top bolts. 1/4" drive leaves more wiggle room.
