This Audi R8 acme to us from a special customer of ours who, following a few issues with his existing wrap (NOT COMPLETED BY US), decided to wrap the car in a completely different colour rather than get the issues fixed. Despite looking stunning the in matt black wrap the customer, after much deliberation, decided to go with a colour very similar to Porsche’s Miami Blue, and what a choice he made!
The vinyl wrap was certainly not the only job the customer was in for, he also decided that he wanted to paint the callipers in a custom Bodycentre Red together with new decals. Like we do with all calliper colour changes, once the paint had flashed off, we then applied the decals of the customers choice before we applied the clear coat to ensure that these were sealed in, eliminating the chance of any lift. On top of the callipers, the customer also decided he wanted to add an array of new carbon accents including a rear spoiler, front splitter, side pods, petrol cap and side skirt extensions.
We thought the vinyl colour looked incredible on the sample, but we really weren’t sure how it was going to work once it was fitted together, however, with the new carbon accessories and freshly painted callipers the final result is incredible!! so make sure you watch until the end.
You’ll see from the start of the video that when the customer had the car wrapped matt black he decided not to wrap the inner door shuts. This is fine when the door is closed but when its opened, due to the extreme colour contrast it is so obvious. As a result this time he decided to go the full wack and wrap all the door shuts. Despite wrapping as much of the car as possible there we still some small areas around the vehicle, which if you look close enough, can see that is still red. So we painted these areas in a gloss black to hide it away. The team have gone to extreme lengths to make sure this car is looking perfect and we couldn’t be prouder of the outcome. The customer was over the moon with the finished piece, so I’m sure he’ll be back soon once he decides he wants a change.
