Oh my god, I wish you would have made this video year ago. I did the trim removal SOOO wrong and with violence the first time haha, but I got the job done. Twice now…

Thanks for the solid video. Can you tell me or possibly make a video showing how to remove the corner trim piece on the rear glass, as well as the top trim pieces?

Thanks for this vid. The trim on my 2017 S3 needs replacing as somehow water is finding its way under the black finish. I've read on other sites that the inner door card will need to come off also, but from your vid it just seems to pull off from the outside. So can the inner card remain in place? Also, do the new trims just push on?

Yes if you want only to remove the trims no need to remove the inner door card. And yes The new trims are just push on

If the S3 8Y is brand new. But didnt come with the black optics package. And I ordered all the black window trim pieces. Could I just replace those chrome trim pieces with the black ones with no other parts needed? Or would the back rubber from the chrome trim need to come off? Then put in on the black trim.

Theres no other parts needed. You can just replace it with the black one.

Thanks for the video. I have an 8V, I tried this process on my rubber trim, but it has split on the end. I've tried removing it with pry tools but it's impossible. Any ideas for this?

How do you place the new ones back? Do you need to glue them?

I have removed the corner pices at the back they didn’t need glue to stick them back on

@@danielsmari2388 on my Audi A4 b7 you need to completely open the inside of the door, including the window to be able to remove this, and then you can change it. No need for glue, it has some pieces that keep it in place

My trim came off the weatherseal. How the hell do you get the trim back onto seal

@@brisenthomas7998 yes. Patients. You just have to figure how it fits into the metal bit. Ive sold the car now but in future make sure you lift the full unit not just the metal top bit!! Also a torques screw under little triangle bit on inside next to mirror.
