The Audi RS2 Avant. Launched in 1994, and not sold in the USA, this specific car was a German market car that is fresh off the boat having arrived in the USA - once it reached the 25 year old mark!

Jamie has imported dozens of Audi RS/S and VW Golf Rallye’s to the USA for customers and friends. This was the latest one, and since we’re doing the KZfaq’s now it seemed like an interesting (and particularly beautiful) car to share. We hope you enjoy it, and apologise about the terrible weather that prevented us from politely doing a 400 horsepower Quattro launch ;-)

1996 I was 9 years old and had a poster of a red RS2 taken from a Quatro Rodas Magazine. That was The dream.. I guess still is

I had one of those back in the day in right hand drive here in the UK, my current car would leave it for dust, but back then I needed something for baby seats and room in the back for our dog

My friend in UK was lucky enough to have one and the predecessor the s2 avant which had more power than the rs2. Sadly now the prices in UK have skyrocketed above 40k. This car was the start of the rs aftermarket bumpers for mk1-3 golf's back in the 90s

There were actually 4 Sedans built. One is in the Audi museum, 2 are in Dubai (or Abu Dhabi i forgot) and one went missing

All first model is not the best, it’s just the standard of what’s next! This wagon is very expensive these days, can’t get one under $50000 USD. A Newer RS (4,6,7 series) can cost less then the fist one out of the line and the performance is just crazy. I will love to own one but this car is a classic now, Iconic I must say. If you own one be happy, it’s probably the only Audi & Porsche ever produced car... we will not see anytime soon one of these collaboration again.

You could cut the blu and white wire under the back seat that goes to the cluster and you can lock the diff at any speed

Nice...!! But I think the wiper arms were fitted wrong side around.. the arm with the kink should be on the passenger side, and attached to the shorter wiper blade of the two..

Audi rs2, awesome car ❤ i almost got one in my garage 😁 I have an s2 avant with rs2 full interior (with the black/blue recaro seats) rs2 grill and rs2 mirrors. But the S2 avant is more rare than a rs2 😉 the s2 avant was only made in 1700 ex 🤟 But still, a rs2 is a rs2 ❤ Nice movie Jamie as usual 👊😊 Take Care! Wise choice. My first car almost became an old Audi Urquattro that I would have gotten for a steal, but young and stupid that I was I never went through with the buy. Still kicking myself in the teeth for not getting that car, it would have been worth a pretty penny today. I can also imagine that the prices for the first gen Rs2 has skyrocketed as well.

The year, 1999, sitting in my Audi 80 sport purchased from my Dad, 19yrs old. Watching a gentleman with a Labrador in the back doing standing 1/4 mile runs in his RS2 at York Elvington Airfield. Happy Days. Id also like to apologise now for stealing an Audi S2 grille badge and cutting the 2 bit off and attaching it to the 80 Sport, the shame :(

I heard the reason it was only available as an avant was because Porsche only agreed to build it if it didn't interfere with any models in their range. A coupe version would have apparently.

Solo werks aren't part of the KW suspension group. There's no information out there that says that. As far as i know ST are part of KW suspension.. correct me if im wrong.

I’m a happy owner Of one blue RS2 all Original, original blue Alcántara steering wheel blue Alcántara seats and carbon. Very rare 1994 unit none airbag and beautiful steering wheel .

They only made 1800 S2 Avants and for the price difference and potential I'll take one of those over the over hyped RS2. Oh wait, I've owned 2 of them already. Anyone who wants to experience something like the RS2, go get yourself an S2 Avant, chiptuning and some BBKs and you are off to the races... mine even had the optional RS2 style Recaro seats which BTW were optional on ANY Audi 80 of that vintage. Hope this helps.

On an RS2 this colour isn’t called Nogaro Blue, it’s called RS blue. Some other RS2 details are the black Audi rings in the steering wheel, and the black interior door handles.

@@JamieOrr yip, I own an RS Blue RS2, and have done for 12 years ( mine is RHD). I have the original sales brochure. I think the name changed to Nogaro because it was available on non RS Audis. The colour is the same paint code (LZ5M). Cheers.

How about the SMS revo built Audi S2? They came out before the RS2 and Audi basically took the idea from SMS. Not saying the car are the same but the idea to make a high performance car came from SMS.

Theese were well built back in the day, I had a 1989 90 quattro 2.0 5cyl DOHC 20v 160hp without turbo, they were Audi-s, the new ones are pritty but not the same
