i saw there was no info on how to remove and replace the window regulator on the S3 A3 8V anywhere on the net or youtube, so I thought i would make one to save you guys time.
i bought the regulator second hand, but these are also available new.
here is the part code you will need:

@ryangoburdhone8149 I used a thin piece of solid wood from the back of an unused shelving unit...easy to cut to size, thin enough to fit and strong enough not to bend.

Mine was just strips of plastic pal and i cut bits out

None of this is necessary boss man. You made it needlessly more complicated than it is. Remove the door card. Unbolt the power window motor At that point the window should be free to slide up and down by hand. Position the window to about the half open position. This is the area of the door where you have the most amount of room to work. Use a pick tool that's either a 45° or 90° angled tip. Slide the tip behind the tab and pull towards you to release. While you are pulling towards you, pull up on the window to disengage the window from the regulator. If you are replace the regulator, you can be a bit careless here and just break the tabs. It doesn't matter because the new regulator has the tabs intact. Overall, this takes 20 minutes tops. The hardest part is not breaking the speaker bezel on the door card on earlier chassis cars.
