+MasterofPlay7 well not all the 4cyl turbos are great little engines and diesel once are performing well. The 3.2 and 2.8 in my experience were the shitties I've came across in terms of reliability and maintenance.

+MasterofPlay7 had the 2.8 a6 then 3.2 a6 while non died during my ownership lol I got to fix quiet a few things on the engine. On 2.8 throttle body started having issues, first one was carbon build up then second time IAC sensor went out. Then lifters failed so I sold it. Got newer 3.2 a6 was a beast then started having electrical issues until timing guide failed. Now that was a pain.

snip84 I had my first Audi for 7 years and it had just as many problems - including a significant front-end recall issue whose case I helped contribute to (which took 6+ years to push through Audi) - as any other new car I've bought. However, the repairs were far more expensive for the Audi than any USA or Japanese brand I've also owned. Decent car when it's all working well and built like a tank, but it wasn't a very satisfying experience overall - so, I no longer invest in Audis. By comparison, I'm now ordering my 4th Subaru (i.e., others members of the family had two others), my prior one being 10.5 years old and still in overall very good shape - I just decided to downsize and get features that I want for the next 10+ years. Not as refined as an Audi, but I have found Subarus a heck of a lot more satisfying (and practical) for the money.

If your looking at the price of the car, take into account the style, the performance, the luxary, the elegace, the branding, after market resale and the service you will get... Of course, if we look for example the question of yours business partners on brand, or processed so it is a question for another contest. Finally someone who really understands physics and that all these cars rely on tires to connect to the road. All these tests are not really fair comparisons because they negate the tires... I would even argue that a thinner more softer tire would make any of these cars handle better, does not need studs. And for most of the commenter here it won't really matter what they choose as it most likely will fit their needs just fine....

You can't be driving on city streets and highways with studded or chains on your tires. It's illegal in most cases and cities. Comparison of these luxury vehicle brands and the Subaru isn't a very good comparison. Everyone knows that the AWD system in the Quattro and Subaru's are proven as one of the best AWD systems and the other two are also very good. It's amazing how the Subaru can pull a heavy load and tow out a vehicle stuck in the snow. Look at some examples on KZfaq. You'll see and be convinced how competent the Symmetrical AWD system really performs. Plus you have a much better resale value of any Subaru next to all of these luxury brands that only hold around 30% of the value after so many miles and years owned compared to the Subaru's holding close to over 60% over the same time period

Brakes, suspension, engine, electrical: piece of cake; if you think they're rocket science and expensive to repair, let me tell you a bigger brain is needed then: german cars are like any other car, stupid shops just take advantage of their prestige as luxury cars and they over price any small labor on them...

It's not the work necessarily it's finding parts. I can source most Subie parts at the local stores. Not so many aftermarket parts for them so you're stuck paying the dealer.
