they have such great skills to compose catchy songs, still riffy. this one is also brutal theme wise

They've been working with the same producer Daniel Gibson on all their music for at least 20 years, he also contributes to the songwriting and provides male vocals on the song Entertain You which is on their new album Bleed Out along with this song. You are correct about them using 8 string guitars now and they've also used 7 string guitars since at least 2007. They also started to really move away from the Symphonic sound after their 2007 album The Heart Of Everything because they figured they had achieved everything they wanted to do with that style. Thankfully they continue to make great music and some symphonic elements still seem to be present occasionally too.

Daniel Gibson, the producer is Swedish so you weren't that far off actually :). And yes there is an album called Bleed Out but this particular song is one of the craziest songs on it. Rest of them are more into the metal/rock side
