In my personal opinion this is a great song.

Kanami’s using a guitar technique called tapping in that section. Van Halen was particularly famous for it. She sprinkles it in here and there. If you want a closeup, you can check out the Blooming MV, which has a whole tapping solo. She also quickly throws in a few tapped notes in From Now On, and around the end of the solo in Hate?.

So much of this song's power is how it flows from section to section. That gets lost when stopping frequently to comment on small components of the song. The flow of Misa's bass solo into the guitar solo is sublime...and completely lost in this reaction. It's amazing how Saiki's voice was isolated momentarily and then it drops into a crescendo of instruments...completely lost in this reaction. I know its hard to react to details and keep the integrity of the song...but that is a necessary skill in reacting to music IMO.

The MV was shot at the Ishikiri Sanmyaku stone quarry which was designated a site of outstanding natural beauty the moment B-M set foot there...Probably.😏

A song about social media where you could take any 30+ second section and it would fit perfect in a tiktok. The rap, bass &/or guitar solo, chorus, outro. Any little piece could be the next "most viral."

Great song to react to...I was waiting for your reaction when Saiki started rapping. You did not disappoint. As for where this was shot, it was shot at Ishikiri Sanmyaku, in Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture (36.37585444109624, 140.20361595566814). This video and song has lots of great moments but it had me at Misa slap thrashing her bass on the edge of a rock quarry. Saiki stretching out "Love" and Miku following her an octave higher is also a selling point.

There is a "Making Of" video on their fan club site for Influencer. In it Kanami is doing echoes off the rock faces with her voice. Also it was shot on a day where it was over 98 degrees out and everyone was feeling the heat and bright sun.

I was hoping you'd be pleasantly surprised by the rapping 🙂 I like the video/audio engineering, pointed lyrics, changeups+flow, singing+harmonies & style changes, bass countermelody & solo, crunchy Miku parts, Kanami octave-pedal solo & countermelody, and keep-you-guessing drum arrangement -- just the regular Band-Maid stuff 🙂 Miku brought a little boom box and it was pushing 100F that day -- glad I wasn't wearing layers of black in that sun. Hey they shot an MV in the US near Joshua Tree. Solidly a ballad which not everyone likes, but gorgeous video and damn fine acoustic guitar production, forward clean vocals, Misa plays bass jazz style, Miku plays acoustic, Kanami finger picks. It strongly moves many of us who attended their post-covid US tour because it's about us, unlike About Us which is another moving ballad about dealing with covid and OMG jazz Misa.

E is the lowest string on a 4 String, but MISA switched to a 5 String early on for BAND-MAID. The lowest string on it is a B.

The Hunky Dory Days for USA, Mexico and Japan fans continue as their 2023 10th Anniversary Concert series closes after they performed a whooping 70 of their over 100 superhit songs. And their big climax at the 17,000 seat Yokohama stadium in Nov 26 was unbelievable! But the 2024 Chapter Two of Band-Maid’s quest for World Domination is now underway.
