I fly to Adelaide to check out the audio in the really great looking room.
In this video I go through some of the great points and some of the challenges we faced in the room.
Thanks to Jamie and his family. These lovely people were so passionate and so keen to get a great result and the outcome has been well worth the effort.

I love this. I hired an acoustic consultant a few months ago. The difference in sound (not just the low end) made it the best investment I have ever done in my home theater.

Another informative video. I look forward to seeing your videos but life does get busy. This room looks really nice so well done Jamie. If finances allow Andrew you should hire somebody to do all your video editing, one less job for you. Bass can be tricky but a dead room sucks the life out of it, a dead room feels heavy if that makes sense. I would love a trinnov, just really expensive. I must buy that disc by YELLO. Look forward to more videos, keep up the great work !!!

Thank you. Great comments too. We are working on more sorry about the slow delivery, life and all !!!! Oh and yes we did try using an editor but found that we had to spend as much time checking the edits as actually editing them. But yes you are 100% right and we are going to investigate this

Hi Jamie. Nice, compact room. Hope you have many happy hours of immersive viewing and listening ahead, now that Andrew has tuned your system to match. Andrew, what is the size of the room please? Always helps to have all the data. Enjoy your time in N.Z. Cheers.

@@jamiewallmann7641 Thanks very much. I have a room I use for my home based business, which will eventually be transformed into a compact home cinema. Have a guess who I will be using for the transformation. Seriously, always good to know what others have been able to fit into their room. Fantastic you're able to install a 9.2.6 in your room. How deep did you have to make the frame to fit the MX20s behind your screen?

Andrew, I'm a little confused about the decay time. The only way to solve this problem is to remove some of the absorption. Am I correct? What did you end up doing with too much absorption? Thanks.
@HomeTheatreEngineering
@HomeTheatreEngineering Жыл бұрын
Hi Thomas 100% correct and not only a good question but something I realised after I posted that I had not addressed. So we had a lot of discussion about that… the client understandably likes the way the supplier built the room visually so he is working on ideas to reduce the absorption The first step is to add some diffusion at strategic locations to help improve this. Then he is going to look at other materials he can use to replace some of the wall panels without changing the look to much. Thanks for asking !

Given the hours and hours of videos on KZfaq on audioholics and others featuring Anthony Grimani formerly of Dolby and THX talking about acoustics and about how you shouldn't kill the highs in the room with total absorption, there's really no excuse for the other installer doing that to this gentleman's otherwise lovely room. I'm sure a few carefully placed diffusers could work wonders.
@jamiewallmann7641
@jamiewallmann7641 Жыл бұрын
Thanks Steven, Andrew also advise me about this and will be definitely going with diffusers for the room.

Jamie was a great client and took in everything we talked about. I may have missed a couple of items in the video but there is an ongoing plan (as Jamie has pointed out) to make some changes. But I have to say again I so love the look of this room. Its a shame to have to change it but we will stay in contact with Jamie and work through this..
