Listen here sweety, I've been in a lot of wars. You can say I relish it, the thrill of the kill and the unfiltered, honest to God rawness of war where all men are laid bare and veils are burned away. That being said, I follow the international laws of war to the letter. It's fun to see the looks in my enemies eyes when I can expertly exploit loopholes and loose definitions. Allows me to do some pretty crazy shit guilt free. But even then, it's not really fair to kill someone who can't defend themselves. If some rando aimed a gun at me, I'd shoot, yes, no matter theur background, since, you know, discrimination is bad. But despite my willingness to fight as dirty as God made Man caoable of, I would never hirt anyone who couldn't defend themselves, who were helpless. You know what I'm talking about. No civvie deaths or casualties if we can help it. But if you won't accept any of that, and you still think we're all tyrannical slavers despite mountains of evidence of all groups living peacefully with no resentment or bigotry, then I won't attempt to convince you otherwise. People should have the right of Free Speech, after all. Just for the hell of it, I thought you were the body around the exploded convoy with the prettiest face. Yep, that's believable, right?

This fits so well with the elaborate and well-written world of Avatar. This all happens pre-Avatar, so this could technically fit. The girl is from the Fire Nation and they're holding her family hostage in exchange for her service as a soldier in the war. The person that saved her is from the Earth Kingdom, and is mute and only speaks in sign, which is why they don't verbally speak. The girl can understand sign so she knows what they are saying. This headcanon works disturbingly well with this audio. So well done!

On December 20, 1943 a B-17 bomber by the name of Ye Old Pub bombed the city of Bremen, but was crippled by German fire. The American plane lost two of her four engines, and fell behind their formation, alone in the middle of enemy territory. Over 12 German fighter came to finish her off- her tail was blown in half, a third engine was badly damaged, almost her entire crew was wounded, the oxygen system was shot. the guns were jammed, the hydraulic and electrical systems were destroyed, the nose cone was shattered, and the medicine on board froze in the high-altitude cold. Then, a lone German BF-109 pulled up close behind them, and was ready to open fire. But he didn't. Instead, the German flew alongside the battered bomber. He tried waving them off to Sweden, but the radio was shot. When his waves and gestures failed, the German flew close to the dying plane, and shielded them from his own comrades' AA fire until they reached the English channel. 40 years later, the B-17 pilot named Charlie Brown and the BF-109 pilot named Franz Stigler reunited, and remained close friends until their deaths in 2008.

“You were injured. I’m not looking for information, as I’m not really even a frontline soldier. I’m a pilot, and I was shot down, I managed to eject, so I was trying to make it back to base on foot. Anyway, I saw you lying unconscious, with a few pretty bad gashes and burns. I figured I’d go ahead and help you out. I can understand your hostilities towards me, as we’re both on opposite sides of the same conflict. I know how taxing it is, being drafted to fight a war you don’t belong in. You’re just fighting for your family, which I understand, and respect. It’s very admirable of you, to fight for them. That kind of compassion is hard to find these days. I ended up deciding to fight, as I had nothing to return to. I just couldn’t go back to living a normal, civilian life. Anyway, I’m glad you have your morals in-tact, as that shows you haven’t been consumed by the flames of hatred. Anyway, I recommend that if we’re gonna save your family, you should get some rest. We’re gonna have a hell of a lot of work to do, and you’re gonna need your strength. I’ll wake you up at about 0350 tomorrow morning, as we’re gonna have to do this under the cover of night.”
