I just purchased these headphones. I was looking for something that wasn't too pricey (compared to the $200+ in the market), but quality. I came pass these and have not found one negative or even mixed review about them. I honestly am excited to try these bad boys out!

+ChappyPlayz Depends on what you plan to do with them. Right now, I'm listening to this video with these headphones. These headphones are SOOO comfortable and can be worn for 9+ hour sessions (music, gaming, producing, etc.) Also, they are super durable and the audio is so amazingly clear. I haven't had any problems or complaints with these headphones yet. Super satisfied.

Have had these but the limited edition ones for about 5 months now. Love them! Great sound quality and very durable. As for comfort, i have a small head and noticed at the beginning that the headphones are a bit large and would squeeze my bone cheecks but after 2 weeks i got used to it and wouldnt notice anymore. I sometimes wear it to watch full movies and dont even notice i have them on.

Great review as usual. One thing though, 3rd party 2.5mm cables/adapters can be used as long as they're long/narrow enough to fit into that 2.5mm port. Only difference is you won't be able to lock them like the stock ones. Not really an issue as the plug/jack fit is snug enough in normal use. And you may actually WANT them to pop out rather than yank the headset and stress the cable if you accidentally snag them. I never twist/lock my stock cables for this reason.

You should check out the M20x, they're the entery model of the M series. The official MSRP on the Audio Technica website is 70$ which is already cheap, but you can pick them up for less, and they sound absouletely fantastic, the overall sound signature is similar to the M50, they actually sound less agressive - less bass and they don't make the highs sound kinda harsh and metallic like the M50's do sometimes, but they don't show as much detail. The sound stage also seemed a bit more narrow and compressed (but maybe that's just me). Overall, insane value.

Urokoz Haha true. If they came out with M50x's in a color I like I would probably sell the ones I have and get those. The switchable cords would be 100x better than being stuck with the huge coiled cord all the time. Regardless, they are still the best headphones I have ever owned.

I just received this item today.Pros: The sound quality is great. Once you wear it, it blocks the noise from outside and you will be more focused on what you are listening to. When you use earphones while watching movies, you need to frequently change the volume as sound from movies goes up and down, but with this headphone you barely need to change volume. Cons: It is not wireless. It has no volume control buttons. It has no microphone.

The only thing i don't like about these headphones is the proprietary cable connection on the headphones themselves. The cables are detachable but because of the weird connector you can't use any normal 3.5mm cables.

Just got this the other week. I have a few cons. 1. The headband, its not super comfortable, nothing mayor but there is this sort of frame around the padding that will hurt if the set isnt at the right angle. Compared to say the Sennheiser game which is super comfortable this is alright but nothing compared to that. 2. They should have included or at the very least sold a cable with remote and mic. 3. The lock mechanism. Its so dumb. If someone janks the cable or it gets stuck your headphone will fall to the ground and perhaps break. It also means i cant get 3rd party cables which i thought the point was but then i realised they arent even selling the mic cables so whats the point? Having said that i freaking love the headpone thus far. Great sound, I have big ears and still these fit around them whilst still keeping them portable enough to bring with me. The price is great too.

Hey dude your videos are really good getting to the main points of the headphones. I was on the fence about these even though I heard a lot of good reviews. I think you did sway me into getting myself a pair. Can't live life without music and in order to do so...we all need good headphones. Thanks again my dude. I truly enjoyed your take on this pair.

Cool trick about these headphones. when watching a video with sound coming out of one side only, unplug it from the headphones, plug it back in,wiggle it around don't lock it. You get sound out of both sides.

I found these good for portable use if you don't care too much about sound quality. They are quite U shaped meaning the mids, vocals appear dipped due to the treble and bass being boosted. People moan about Beats but the Solo2 is a better sounding headphone IMO.

So. My Tritton 720+ cable is about to break in about 2 months or so so I wanna be prepared for when they do break. I don't wanna get some kind of crappy "gaming" headset again but a headphone with a good sound quality. I like good bass in my headphones and i listen to a lot of Dubstep and Trap but I feel like the community is split into 2 groups here. Everybody say that the sound is very balanced but some say the bass is very good and others say there could have been a bit more. If anybody owning these headphone could give me an answer that would be great.

hi everyone, I am adding this comment here to gather feedback and review on the audio technica ath m50x headphones. I have always used earphones and never headphones. I am planning to buy one but my small town does not have any store where i can go and try these. Even amazon deliveries take at least 4-5 weeks to deliver. Basically a countryside kind of place. So, it will take ages for the delivery and then return and reorder of a new one. Anyways, I read the reviews and they have been fantastic. I also watched several videos on youtube. But since everyone has a different definition of the words "good", "amazing", "fantastic", etc. I am not sure if i will like them equally or not. I am also not very much aware of technical terms like soundstage or sound colour, etc that people use to describe these headphones. Now the whole reason for writing this comment is just to enquire about the bass of these headphones. i want to know how good is the bass. To help you all guys answer the question so it is understandable to me, let me give some info about my likes and dislikes: 1. i really liked the earphones shipped with the age old sony ericsson walkman series phones like w550i. Their bass was what i liked and preferred to any other nokia earphone at that time. 2. I also liked the earphones that came with the sony ericsson p910i. 3. I liked the Sony MH EX300AP earphones that shipped with the sony xperia z smartphone from 2013. They are the best earphones I have listened to so far in terms of bass. The equalizer on the xperia Z made them sound even better. The bass was very nice and I was 100% satisfied with their bass. 4. I have used sennheiser hd 203 headphones too. They were the first headphones i ever listened too regularly. Actually a friend of mine and my flatmate/roommate few years back owned it and I used to borrow and listen on them. I really liked the bass on them too. I used them with my xperia z smartphone. Now that you all know what is my definition of good bass, I request you you all to provide me your valuable feedback and thoughts on how good the bass on m50x will be. I have no doubt about its clarity and other aspects of sound reproduction. Just gathering info on the bass. Thank you.

Like the videos. Great review. I have been looking into headphones and ones to get for my birthday as well. Something I can use daily. Which ones would you prefer - given that price isn't a issue - as your daily driver; V-Moda Shadow M-100 vs Audio Technica M50x? I like the color, build, warranty and customization of the Shadows. The cords are also detachable and I believe various different cords could be used. Though that's not the same case for the M50x.....besides the M-100s, the M50x are a pair of headphones that have popped up in my search especially due to the price? The shadows come with a hard case the M50x a soft leather pouch. I listen to all types of music as well. Well thanks and great reviews.

great review and yes they're large but oh boy they're top quality. I got the athm50xbl (blue and tan) a year ago next month and I still get excited by the sound on them. if you download 320 kbps tracks or higher you will be blown away and obviously if you're using an amp at home or studio or a phone like LG g5 with the separate dac feature then get ready for ears being treated to some amazing sounds .👍 in the UK they're about hundred pounds now and I bought them for 120 pounds when new due to brilliant 50 quid off weekend promo. in reality there's sound like a two hundred to easily a three hundred pound pair of headphones . Theses are not really outdoor wearing type but I do as the colour combo I bought allows it to be but theses would be much better outdoors if they streamlined the design some what. great for computers games too. 👍

Nothing about open or closed back which is a huge consider given the average consumer (what ever that is) is as likely to be home recording and mixing as anyone else these days. Regardless isolation is a huge issue regarding headphone purchase considerations, and some folks would rather avoid spending 600 bucks to buy both open and closed monitor headsets. Hey. Thank you very much for your insightful video. I'm looking for a pair of headphones that cancel out noise. I work in a noisy office and get distracted easily, so cancelling out sound is more of a priority for me, rather than audio and/or bass quality. Active noise cancelling headphones like Bose and Beats are terribly expensive. Do you think the M50x is a good alternative for this purpose?
