Get the 520c center channel when on sale under $120. It's discontinued. Took me 6 months to get a deal on a used one ($85 shipped) and it's really makes an amazing addition for a 5.1 530 + 520c is niceeee

Ron is correct the JBL studio 530s sound crazy good for their price point If not i would have not video reviewed them , In the Last year , I have bought 17 sets of speakers , and i have only reviewed 60 percent of them , the other 40 percent I couldn't reccomend them at their price point so no review . But these JBLs 530s are worth An upgrade and Dr. Danny has the equitment and knowlege to improve these speakers ! I can't wait !

You're the man Ron, you survived the dreaded ghost pepper attack & figured out how to take this speaker apart. I think this speaker will defiantly benefit from mods & as a car restorer / builder please take Ron's advise, the ziplock bag is your friend. If you are somewhat mechanical, take notes, photo's & bag everything you will make this so much easier on yourselves. I have no doubt that this will turn out to be a huge success between Ron & Danny!

I've had these fantastic speakers for a few years now, and purchased them when they were released, paying full price. Supposedly, they were designed by the great JBL speaker designer, Greg Timbers - a legend in the industry. I'm extremely happy with how they sound out of the box, but interested to see how your mod came out. Also, I have heard rumors that the more recent batches of JBL 530's had some 'cost cutting' in the manufacture process, but i'm not sure I believe this (maybe more plastic than wood?). Supposedly, this is why JBL offers these speakers at times for $300, which is essentially half of what they used to charge when they first came out. You read a lot of things on the internet, and sometimes don't know what is true and what is not. You have a great channel!

Just bought 4 530s for under 600 from JBL to take up atmos roles in my theater. Moving away from my SVS kit to these based on the pricing. I just wish they had a more capable center than dual 4" drivers.

@chrisj9008
@chrisj9008 2 жыл бұрын
@@JustEnjoyingLife73 it very well may. However going active that becomes a much easier problem to deal with. In my case I would be using some DBX driveracks to manage everything. Going digit on the Xovers, EQs, and having a ton of power behind things (QSC amp racks) gives me tons of reserve for any dynamics I would need. Of course most of the time we are talking differences only around 6db or so built into a traditional xovers. In the pro-world most of the systems are bi or tri amped and there are no Xovers.

Ron. I noticed many viewers are asking you to review the JBL 590 floor standing loudspeakers. They are great sounding for the sale price. However they are very front heavy and have fairly cheap outrigger stands. So be very careful with your little one. Make sure she does not bump into them as I feel they could fall forward fairly easily and she could get really hurt if on fell on her. Other than being a little risky around little kids they are awesome speakers. FYI

fwiw; Oftentimes when you need to cut wires such as these tweeter feeds, it's prudent to leave them as long as possible. In this situation I would have left them intact to the crossover, and cut the solderless connectors off and pulled the full length downward into the box. That said each situation is different and easily there may have been a reason for doing so.

Looks like an ok little speaker but I prefer the old style JBL products, they are much nicer in the fact that they arnt plastic and so light weight. JBL used to be a lot better but the bean counters seem to have pushed aside the engineers in order to save money, now everything looks so cheap and the sound is nowhere close than it was.
