Why are audiophiles so upset we are talking about this issue?
Can't we all act like adults and have simple Hi-Fi discussions?

* * UPDATE * * This video was swiftly deleted and banned by the mods over at Audiophile Cables after it started racking up "likes". Could it be it's because that group openly supports cable IP theft? Turns out it looks like the one person there who left me a pissy message is a reviewer named David Blumenstein. I have a screenshot on my FB page of what he posted. I've never heard of him but boy - talk about destroying the industry you're supposed to be helping.

Well spoken! Great video. Not harsh at all - and I really loved the end with those false critics that hasn’t lived with components taking the role of victims. It needs to be said - they are the polluters of this passion of us.

He's right. I want a premium product or part, and can't afford the real mccoy. I typically try to get close, but I know I'm not getting the name brand. It is simple economics. Am I disappointed in what I buy? Sometimes, and to a greater and lesser extent through the years. I've accepted I can't afford the most expensive brands, and they're not worth mortgaging the house for, or saving for a long time. I have other things I save for long term like retirement. I get basic good stuff, and I try to maximize it to get a little taste of elite performance.

I couldn’t agree more. I think such hostility is born out of ignorance and in some cases, envy and jealousy. I’ve seen comments where people have decided to unsubscribe on KZfaq because they disagreed with a review. I have no issue with a healthy debate but to make sweeping statements without trying a product is wrong.

Here Here!! I do think there are people who don't understand the costs of doing business. I also think they will never really be able to re-create the equipment they claim to be able to for the amount of work, research and engineering it indeed takes. I think the snarky commenters you describe are also the people that make rude/disrespectful comments about cable discussions etc.. and anything else that they dismiss as "snake oil". Just because I experience something (or not) and like a piece of equipment (or not) doesn't mean other audiophiles will agree. AND PS. While you are justified in your comments, please try not to stress out over this. This social media pettiness you are describing is not worth your health! (We don't have that many you-tubers willing to talk about cables, internet switches etc..!)😆😘

The comments about how one can assemble a computer them selfs are nothing new. They have been around since the beginning of customer computer products. But they have died down in the sector of general personal computers. Very few people think it is better to build your self a personal computer than to buy it from Sony, Dell or Apple. Since audio computers are new and for male technoloygy geeks there is that old discussion again. Yes, you can learn how to build a computer. But you can also learn how to build a car or a dinning table. All of which could be fun if you are in to it but not what most people would ever want to do.

I 100% stand behind these statement as this is the true way "Capitalist" operate. (btw Capitalist is not a bad word) It's not free and it's not maximizing profits, sure the latter is towards the end as stated. Research and Development can take years if not decades, experience gained etc.. And while the end product is shown, it doesn't really show how much blood sweat and tears go into getting to the end product. This is exactly why I will pay more for a product I know is a well known brand with years to back it up. When I see random business popup trying to sale knockoffs, I wont unless I HAVE to which most of the time I don't. I had this same convo with friends and family, the bottom line is; its a culture difference where one culture don't care how it was made just as long as they can re-engineer it; that's their hard work so they feel its theirs (which is wrong on so many levels). These "cultures" operate under different laws (countries) and now because internet has connected us around the world our "cultures" and beliefs are clashing. Just a thought. This is why I believe in our institutions in America and Europe and any other country that believes in Copy Right, Trade Mark, Paten, Design and Trade Secret aka IP etc.. 8:05 I hate to be political about this but in reality that's what it is. We in America didn't ask to be "top dog" and to be frank as I grew up UK and Germany and France etc.. were all about the same as us in America. But now America being the top dog, they will do everything to destroy our way of life. And no this isn't "targeted operations", this is a baked in culture thing. This is why we need to pressure our politicians to make more laws on tariffs so "importing" cost more than locally produced. We have to decouple from decades of integration to protect our way of life and to protect our businesses etc..

@@MichaelsHiFiAdventures Thank you for sharing this video, which touches on a crucial issue that often goes unaddressed. I've encountered this topic frequently in various conversations and threads. It's evident that within the dynamics of business, there's often a lack of acknowledgment for the significant investment and effort put into research and development for products. Instead, there's a tendency to quickly assess the product's value based solely on its price without considering the extensive research and development that went into its creation. Not to mention all the business expenses associated to keep afloat.

@@nightingaleaudioRunning a small business is HARD. Rather than setting you guys up as the evil greedy empire, people should actually EDUCATE themselves on what it takes to run a business. But that would require an open mind that most of them have no desire to posses. Unfortunately with the current indoctrination going on, it's only going to get worse for business being positioned more as "the enemy". I was swiftly banned from Audiophile Cables for posting this video.

Cheers! ive had it before when looking at Mc suts ie the bobs devices one, a guy on a forum said its just a hobby box with a few point to point wired in, I could build that for £200! instead of the £1200 bob sells for. yes it looks simple but as you say, its years of testing, building,checking,time, overheads etc.

As an artist I got this a lot when I started out. As if my work was valued based on the materials. It’s staggering the cost of running a business. And if I could build the worlds best amp and do it for the cost of 500$ and not 15,000 - in materials, damn right il charge as much as the highest priced gear. My engineering prowess is a huge commodity that deserves value.

Well put together, BUT you tell the other extreme 😊...what do i mean with that? (Btw. I'm a company owner with 136 employees) ... Hifi gear is for CERTAIN brands, extremely overpriced, because lifestyle have changed and OWNING gear is in focus, NOT listening to music and to lot of money comes into the Hifi scene the last 5y! I FULLY agree, I'm extremly against the Chines clones, which make now a huge market share! But where does this come from???? Exactly in regards of the failling hifi indistrie, because so many highened brands just put RANDOM prices onto their gear, sorry, but there are so many examples, that makes me angry!! Yes, I own something like Grimm Audio Mu2 or Soulution 725 and thats okay, but selling amps over 100k or speakers, power cables, phono pre etc...its just insane and COMPLETELY disconnected to that what you just mentioned (you dont wanna know/how many manufacture brands copy & innovate!)..i'm watch closely the diy audio scene and is growing, because people realize, old designs are still the best...Hifi innovation happens very rarely this days!!!
@MichaelsHiFiAdventures

You clearly missed the point of the video. If you are so "angry" that things are "overpriced" and you don't understand the economics behind ultra hi-fi, simply don't buy it. Pretty simple. Then they go out of business OR they adjust their price accordingly.

I bet the same people go to the barbershop to tell honest hard working people that they can do the same thing for free at home. Goldensound ripped off the tech and idea of the Zahl hm1 headphone amplifier and made it a feature on a collaboration he did with Ferrum and put his name on it and puts a premium price tag on it. Not only that, goldensound operate a music piracy ring where he offers free music to paying subscribers of his Patreon.
