In this video I breakdown what auditors do on a daily basis, what the audit team is trying to achieve and the different stages of an audit engagement.
A career in audit is a very popular one for accounting students straight out of university and the Big 4 accounting firms (KPMG, Deloitte, EY, PwC) hire a lot of new graduates in the audit department every year.
If you're thinking about joining an accounting firm and considering a career in audit, this video will provide essential background before your interview.

Hey I watched your other video where you said you saw people move from audit over to deal advisory. I just wanted to ask at what stage of their audit career did they move over? Would it be likely for someone on a audit grad scheme to move to deals after their first year of audit?

Hey, loving the videos. What are your views on deal advisory within the big 4, particularly KPMG? I am looking to move into finance after qualifying with ACA under KPMG, would this job role be suitable then for my goals. The two teams within deal advisory are corporate finance and transaction services. I assume corporate finance is the better of the two?

Hey, Certainly it's a path that's very sought after. Moving to deal advisory will open you up to new skills and experiences and also further opportunities down the line for e.g. private equity etc. Having your ACA is more of a requirement for transaction services (dur diligence) than CF. There is certainly no "better" of the two, all depends on what your interests are! Hope this helps :)

@@FinanceUnboxed Thanks for the reply! Do you have any advice on passing the online assessments that many finance firms offer, such as situational judgment and numerical tests. It might make for a good video idea as it covers search based content which brings more footfall to newer channels.

Hey, yes it's certainly possible. Try and move across to corporate finance if you can down the line. That's the easiest option way

Hey. You'll communicate with thr client even at junior level, but it'll generally be for limited reasons. For eg asking for more info etc. As you get to senior, you'll ask the more significant questions of the client. Hope this helps!

Hey, the question has two subjective elements to it: the level of stress in the job and the remuneration level. In my opinion, getting a job as a financial reporting accountant for a well established business can fit those requirements. Its important that the business is well established as new businesses going through stages of fast growth generally don't have the systems and processes in place yet, hence there is likely to be a bit more stress.
