Love your videos. They're great PSA's, and amazing stories. I'd love to see more Americans watching them, as they really educate the massive holes in law enforcement. I apologize in advance for the unsolicited advice, I hope you dint mind. Let my start by saying, your videos are near perfect already. That said, you could literally double our perhaps triple your views overnight by making one small change. Get them below 13 minutes each. Studies have shown that under 13 minutes is the magic mark. I know you certainly don't want to trade quality, but there are ways you could get most of your videos below 13:00 by tweaking then. Again, sorry if it's unwelcome advice, I just really like your videos, and online marketing is what I do for a living, so I can't help it when I see something I like that can reach and teach more people. Keep up the great work!

Quotes like this fall under a cop “knowing enough to be dangerous, but not enough to be correct.” The bit you quoted has been used in Supreme Court cases, but I only recall it being used for vehicles parked on the person’s real property (I.e. driveway). You also have an expectation of privacy in your vehicle no matter it’s location, but that is somewhere between the expectation of privacy in your home and your complete lack of privacy in public. The officer also doesn’t get what the law says regarding searches. Yes, anyone has to get permission to go on a diving search (leaving out the exceptions that only apply to police like safety, RAS, PC, etc.), but no one, not even police, needs permission to simply look through windows and open doors of a vehicle that is not on the owner’s property.

Joe Blow, you are technically incorrect. As the officer said, he was a witness to the crime "we are doing" as in the crimes committed by the officers while he was standing there recording them. But that brings about a whole other set of issues including fury and depression that the cops can so blatantly commit crimes and knowingly confess but still not be prosecuted, the issue of the criminals who committed the crimes investigating themselves and gathering all the info on the witnesses who could get them in trouble, etc. etc. etc. Ideally I'd like the 5th amendment extended so that no one can be compelled to be a witness period. The gov should have to earn cooperation by being honest and worthy of respect, not demand/coerce it through threats.

And, they don't look at what Audit the Audit shows us. Like the Supreme Court rulings, etc. From our perspective they are doing many things wrong, but high chance they believe in what they're saying. @@sarcastickz6885 - No... There were just too many issues to be "lack of training" and ignorance here. That ended when the officer literally fabricated a law concerning an "Extension of the home" nonsense rather than just say "You can't film in this guy's car"... Cops are cloudy on a lot of gray areas, but knowing whether it's legal to "look" in a car vs. entering a car is common knowledge. Obstruction didn't hold water either when there were literally DOZENS of people between the auditor and the arrest. It's hard to obstruct when there are two lanes of moving traffic between you and the officers. You're not in the crime scene at that point, and if you are, there are a LOT of "obstruction" tickets to write. The cop was also VERY aware of what he was doing by repeatedly "Asking" rather than demanding. Listen to his words, and you'll see that he was choosing them carefully. Not as ignorant as we might assume. Then there was the point where he was withholding access to a supervisor who was actually on-scene while trying to intimidate the man with cuffs. There is NO justifiable reasoning for that. He also showed his true colors when trying to push the "You're a witness" issue when the auditor wasn't present for the crime, and as the Sergeant noted, the ARREST was being recorded on various body/dash cams. Finally, we have the attempt at the false "trespassing" allegation when ANY cop knows that he alone can't trespass a person from private property. If you've been a cop for over a month, you've been called for "trespassing" and domestic violence cases. When an officer attempts every common trick in the manual as if he were running down a check-list before succumbing to the actual law, it's (IMO) aggressive and unwarranted.

In some significant ways it is. For example, they can't search your car without a warrant (without probable cause), you have a right to defend yourself while in your car as though it were your home, etc. But that BS about not filming inside someone's car is just that; BS, especially so when the door was open for all to view. If that's what they were really worried about they should have shut the damn door; problem solved, but no: these guys just wanted to swing their wieners around and be the big man on the street instead of attending to their business at hand. When one starts that crap the others join in like a pack of jackals. Proper training to start with would be even better. Especially regarding the actual law. Criminal law, criminal procedural law and police law are basics even the lowest levels have know here here before going out. Some states don't even train "mid (basic) service" anymore and ALL officers' apprenticeship is essentially a 2,5 y undergrad degree with added fitness, weapon etc. training.

honestly at this point, police could use more training, but what they really need is accountability. you can teach someone about rules and policies all day and night, but if you dont enforce those rules and consequences for breaking them, there's no point in having those rules and policies

Exactly. Probable cause is a direct example that the reasonable expectation of privacy does not extend to vehicles as they exist in the public and can be subject to search based on visual confirmation of said cause. @@fernandobriseno8164 The issue usually revolves around "safe distance". Court has ruled that 10 feet can be reasonable and a lot of states say that interfering has to be physical. I know of no statue anywhere that distracting an officer is a crime. You will often hear police say, "if I have to watch them and you it is interfering". This is not a valid reason to make someone move or stop filming without a defined crime scene.

@@sittingindetroit9204 that sounds reasonable, but I'm not saying make a law where it's illegal to distract an officer. What I'm saying is if an officer is making an arrest and you don't know what's going on besides an interaction between a civilian and a law enforcement official then it's in both parties best interest not to get too close, no one wants to accidentally get shot if they're mistakenly perceived as a threat. What I said about proximity was said as my own opinion and not as a statement reflecting any laws.

My answer would be: Oh I didn't realize this was all about what I wanted, in that case I want you actually know and understand the laws you're paid to enforce so that you'd know that all of that crap you just said is total bullshit and completely wrong and a quick Google search or check of the states laws would prove that and then you'd go back to doing your job instead of harassing me. But I'm betting money you're about to tell me that isn't how this works and in not gonna get what I want and then instead of actually taking a minute to check Google and see if I was right before deciding what to do so you can make sure you're doing the right thing you'll instead tell me that I'm under arrest cuz you think I'm a smart ass and you're thinking that getting taken to jail will show my smart ass a lesson about doing what I'm told next time and not trying to tell you about what the law is. I want the first thing but I'm betting I'll get the second but don't worry cuz I'll make sure to buy the first round in your name when Mt lawyer says I've gotten my settlement and you'll even be invited to celebrate with us at the party since you'll most likely have a lot of time off after you get told that I was right about those laws and how you should have checked Google. So which one is those are we doing?"
