the little variances between rex's comments and audrey's translations are very interesting to observe. the one that stood out to me the most was when rex expressed his apprehension that they might "damage bernard shaw's play" and audrey's translation directly translates to "change or maybe spoil george bernard shaw's play" which seems considerably less extreme. i think it is very cute how even in translation audrey speaks ill in moderation.

Wow, you could understood what Miss Hepburn was saying! That's great, I wish I could teach myself to do same. Audrey really inspired me to learn more language, alas I still can't fine the time to do so

@@cinnamon709 has he? There are a few quirks and little mistakes which a native speaker would probably not make, so that's surprising. Still really good french overall though!

noyow i should have said first language. I’m pretty sure that she had to re-learn it at some point as she grew up speaking mostly Dutch and English.

Her first language was French as she was born and raised for a while in Belgium, however she came from Dutch and English families and obviously lived across the two countries before and after the war. Possibly why her French and also her English accent is such a lovely timbre and mix of different ones🥰

Very sad that the studio dubbed her singing over with a formally trained singer, while Audrey could have done it herself, and better.

Couldnt agree more.!!!! 100 times better to hear her voice, instead of a classicaly trained voice, that is devoid of any charm.!!!!
