LYRICS:
Wounded and tired and worried. It's like fighting an invisible enemy. Wounded and tired and worried. What lies ahead you thought you'd never see. No one wants to end up in the clouds. You can't lose a battle you could never win. You can't finish a fight without the strength within. Beliefs set aside, the uncertainty is what's truly terrifying. Be scared or be brave. Where we end is all the same. Be scared or be brave. Memories are everything. Be scared or be brave. Reminiscing is for the living. Pain is setting in. It's surrounding us. Pain is surrounding us. Your quiet heart makes us sink further. We will accept our biggest fear. We're sinking further. Escape into thin air. You'll find relief in being lost.

It's like a constant build up to a breakdown, and then just when you think that was a solid breakdown another buildup happens. Oh man, I swear every time ABR is about to release a new album I either wonder how they will top the previous album or whether I'd get a bit tired of them. I've been listening to them ever since Thrill Seeker and they never cease to amaze me. What a tune!

True. Some have been better than others. My personal favorites are rescue and restore and constellations. (And messengers of course) But if the rest of this album is like this it's going to be beyond anything they've done so far, because they've learned to vary up their patterns, notes and time signatures in a way that makes them truly unique in the metal scene. They've always done cool time signature stuff but I think now they're mastering it.

ABR, their music never fails to impress me. Wicked talent on their respective instruments, lyrics that are deep and thought provoking, lyrics that border just on the edge of ambiguity enough to allow all, regardless of religion or belief, to form their own metaphorical understanding of it's message to ultimately turn it into a message unto themselves. That is pure genius at work.

You say that as a fan expecting the exact same song 10-15 times on every album. Clearly, as the band progressed the most from Leveller on. But if you want to listen to Thrillseeker on repeat, feel free. No one thinks that this band will play 100-200 concerts this year. And that playing the exact same sounding song 15 times every night is actually really fucking boring. Sepultura will likely never tour again because fans just wanna hear the old songs and that's fucking tragic. Like AFI, I'm glad that ABR has switched things up over the years. I'm glad they've experimented. It makes them a band to anticipate, not just one to expect.
@JeserNoob
@JeserNoob 7 жыл бұрын
Nate Davies i'm not saying change or experimentation is bad but there's a fine line between trying something new and just outright blowing it nah i'm just kidding just the newest stuff isn't really doing it it for me. i felt that they were doing solid records up until leveler. as someone else put it, the newer stuff (including prada) sounds forced
@bagzy868
@bagzy868 7 жыл бұрын
TheMarsilver no matter what ABR does, they have that divine musical fire that won't die and their songs will reflect it. ABR is one of the most consistently progressive bands out and no matter if experimenting or trying something new, they are always spot on.
