Brassica is in, buckwheat down. Oats and peas in about 20 days and winter rye. Moved a box blind today, will start clearing our stand entry trails next week. By August 25th, we're outta there for fishing and some downtime. Thanks for the confirmation Jeff. We're feeling better about it each day. Even had a gorgeous 10 on one of the kicking sticks and scrape! Keep at it and thank you!

I’ve been eagerly awaiting this month, I can’t wait to watch these deer migrate to our land as the food plots grow, we have added more plots for a total of 3, travel corridors and bedding in between, great hidden access, mock scrape, it will be a successful year no matter what, great video Jeff, I had a group of three 6pointers walk thru a couple days ago which I’ve never seen in 15 years there. I focused on creating cover and breaking down sight lines, and it’s working, now for the August chores, we are using the blend of seed you made👍👍

Great Stuff there Doc. You've coached us through the summer and bare ground is waiting. Fall Planting time..finally we have a three day front coming in Sunday with over 1.0" of rain predicted for lower Michigan. The heat is finally subsiding. Barasica, radishes, winter greens, peas etc. to be followed with Urea in 4-5 weeks and rye later in Sept. Topping off water holes, checking stands can't wait for the fun in October. Thanks for all your help.

@whitetailhabitatsolutions9751
@whitetailhabitatsolutions9751 4 жыл бұрын
I've personally seen/heard them spook deer over a 1/2 Mike away starting in the late 80s. Last year it was crazy the deer that were being spooked by a neighbor that was 3/4 mile away. The deer were between he and I and I could see his headlamp across the valley. Deer were in between us running at me, from him. I use a very dim light focused on the ground...that's about it. In thick timber it doesn't matter that much but with no leaves and big woods or open fields...very, very, bad.

Hey Jeff, Really good video. Im from Southwest PA and I just started watching your videos about a week ago and really wish I would've found them years ago. It makes so much sense what you say about summer buck patterns and fall buck patterns (I never thought of it that way). So I dont currently do food plots however your no till food plot video has me really wanting to for next year. But I used to get tons of buck pics in the summer then not see bucks in the fall or up until the pre rut. I moved all my cams to different locations (places I could see a buck being in the fall), now I see bucks but not nearly as often. Do you think that is a good sign? Keep up the great work and content.

Jeff, I greatly appreciate all your videos and have watched a good majority of them multiple times. But, I can't seem to find where you talk about specific fertilizer application and the timing of the application. The only thing I've caught on your videos, that i can recall, is the 46-0-0 on brassica post greenup. What about fertilizing the oat, peas and beans combination? I realize it's all about PH but assuming it's established, when and what fertilizer do you recommend? Would you apply it again say in...September or October?

@whitetailhabitatsolutions9751
@whitetailhabitatsolutions9751 4 жыл бұрын
Where the deer are at during the summer doesn't matter...unless you can kill them there during the season 😉 It's cool to get a summer pic if a giant, but unless he is revealing his fall pattern (or where you can kill him) at the same time it doesn't mean much.

I guess you haven't heard of our velvet hunt we get 2 buck tags for august 20-23 i think are the dates so we do get a chance at summer bucks on private land.but I agree fall is the most important one to focus on.

Just back up 👍 Also for the majority of whitetail hunters across the entire country...the season opens some time in Sept thru October 1st. In time for 90% of all whitetail hunters ☺️ So just in time except for some outliers and even then, just watch the tips for a different month. With your attitude you will definitely want to mute the Sept deer chores vid, lol will drive you nuts! And October, Nov, Dec, January, etc...always something to do in the deer world 😜
