This August Haul is the most epic haul of Japanese whiskey ever. So much great whiskey in one place at one time!

Yeah, thanks for grabbing all the rare Whiskey at the Murrietta opening! 2 21’s, 2 Yama 18’s, Nika 21 and the only Hibiki Harmony. Clowns like this are ruining the Whiskey Hobby. Talked to the manager that day, they were unimpressed with the attitudes they got from these people. Thx for leaving a Redbreast 27…guy hasn’t even tasted the Hibiki 21, but bought 2.

William Borst, Thank you for the comment,. In this case there were two of us at the opening. So we were able to get 1 for me and 1 for the other person. Totally agree; guy doesn’t even know if he like it but buy 2👎. VID should be titled Whiskey Hoard instead of Whiskey Haul. NOT IMPRESSED. Hiding your face from embarrassment as the hoarding videos continue. Hey I got 8 bottles of Taketsuru 21 for sale $129.99; How many bottles do you want to “taste”? 🙄

Nice epic find 👍 last time I saw a Hibiki 21 was at a bevmo maybe 5-6years ago msrp at 399. My cousin found me a second bottle at japan duty free air port but it was the limited edition version the kacho fugetsu Hibiki 21 msrp 400.

Nice haul! Just got back from Maui and the Costco there had absolutely nothing special. Picked up a Toki to sip on in the heat and also made some highballs and it was light and refreshing. Will check around back in CA and see what is around. I'm a newb to the Japanese Whiskey scene so thanks for the insights.

Good for you to be able to get all these rare whiskies! But 2 of each is a bit much considering the Murrieta selection at opening means good part of the country, especially the midwest, won't have these for the rest of the year or more 😢

I ended up finding a yamazaki 18 special edition at a duty free for 500 canadian which is unreal. Only one left though but I think I'm going to drink it.

Awesome video! Pretty sure those Hibiki (non age statement/limited edition bottles) are just the regular harmony. This one is the Ryusui-Hyakka Limited Edition. The limited edition masters select is a different bottle from what I have seen. Cheers man!

Sean, Thanks for the comment, I dont know why kept thinking it was master select. It is the Hibki Limited edition, so its like a step above the normal harmony but below the master select. By the time i realized it though, the video was already out. But I def, wont make that mistake again. Have a great rest of your day, Cheers!

mate, you hit the jackpot here. most of these bottles downunder are well well over msrp. Yamazaki 18 1800, Hibiki 21 1500, Nikka 21 1600ish. Great find👌

Not sure if you said it in the video, but how much was the hibiki 21 and Yama 18?

@@Whiskey1 90% so it should be a really easy drinker. I saw mixed reviews on it, only one way to find out if it's any good! I paid $130 and the going price is about $160. I hate passing good deals like that as you generally only get one chance to buy them.

When I lived in Calgary Ab … could find everything all the time - a distributor told me that Calgary - oil town - was one of the top cities in the world for whiskey purchases per capita - now that I’ve relocated to Ottawa, I can barely find anything other than low end high production stuff - most likely because alcohol is Govt run

Frox, Thanks for the comment, I thank the whiskey gods that we can get Booker's here , but there are some great things in the UK you can get that we cannot here , mainly some of the Buffalo trace and Blanton's variants (i.e. straight from the barrel, Blanton's Gold etc..) and Gold spot. Those Japanese bottles are great finds. I noticed this was shot a year ago, have you noticed prices have gone up since then? Are you drinking these bottles or are they an investment. Just the other day here in Tokyo I found the Yamazaki and Hakushu 12 for ¥260000 and the Hibiki 21 for ¥99800. Any aged bottles from Suntory or Nikka are difficult to find here in Tokyo although there are some micro distilleries that have popped up here in Japan that have sparked my interest that may not be available outside of the country. I have a feeling any aged whisky 12 or above will continue to increase until they start to release more aged whisky but that could take several years. Happy drinking.!
