The august garden tour is brimming with cut flowers, fruit, veggies, and pollinators! Join me for a garden tour of our 1/2 acre cut flower garden. I grow cut flowers in the landscape and sell them at our farm stand. I'm passionate about growing flowers from seed and love supporting pollinators in our certified pollinator garden. Today I'll show you the main flower walk, hydrangea room, hummingbird way, raised bed garden, grace's shade garden, and my new "park" garden. I hope you have a lovely day in your garden!

Danielle, you're my absolute fave! I have learned so much from you. Thank you! Love the history of your Grandma and how you honor her. Most of all I enjoy watching you because you're genuine and enjoy the little things like me and you're such an inspiration. Your garden puts me at ease like a little heaven on earth.

Charming apples in the Hummingbird Way arbors say that your instincts are spot on with adding another service berry like you’re thinking, to balance the other. You have so many garden rooms balancing each other in every way - costly and budget, formal and informal, flowers veggies fruits, cutting and landscape - and those HYDRANGEAS!!gasp! Thanks for the always warm welcome.

Your gardens are a beautiful delight!! We moved into our forever home in 2019 after my husband’s 25 year USCG career moved us all around. We always made our properties more beautiful than when we found them. Now we are retired and living near Pinehurst NC. We are finally installing a deer fence but it’s over 700’ linear feet 🤦‍♀️ I can’t wait to truly create our forever gardens!! You are such an inspiration!!

You gotta love happy accidents, no? The laden apple branches growing through the arbor are lovely. Those Double Click Sunflowers are stunning. Your hydrangea room is so deeply layered that I could look at it for hours. The main flower walk is enticing! Yeah, cameras never do it justice as they work from a 'mid-point in color and light, unlike the eye which has no such centering limitation. Another framing serviceberry near the entrance may make it more alluring. I find the temptation to explore 'what's around the corner' irresistible. The tall pop of color that the seed dahlias add is perfection. All gorgeous! Thanks, Danielle!

Your garden is lovely, and your driveway garden is such a delightful addition. It's too bad that your husband scurried away so quickly, it would have been nice to meet him. How fun to see what your storms look like! We live in the Pacific Northwest Penninsula, in what is called "The Blue Hole". The Olympic Rain Forest is just south of us, catching a lot of the rain, before it reaches the Strait of Juan De Fuca and Vancouver Island, which is basically in view out our north windows. When the weatherman says it's going to rain, it is very light; hardly worth calling it "rain"! That's good for the garden, but I miss the excitement of a good storm!!! Thank you so much for sharing your garden with us! It is delightful!!!

"Maybe like me, middle aged and an old soul..." yup, that's me also! Have had an old soul since I was a child and found it very hard to fit in with my own age group. Always felt much better with older people... Did you have that 2 ? Perhaps that's why your grandmother is so important to you. I lost all my grandparents when I was 6 years so I didn't really got to know them.

The garden is lovely in all her seasons, thanks for taking us on a stroll. BTW I noticed a praying mantis on the dark elephant ear (love those BTW) at 18:27 I love spotting those in my garden. I just picked up six more lime lights to add to my garden, I have so enjoyed the row I planted last year out my kitchen window all summer. I'm thinking of under planting them with lambs ear this fall. What about naming the garden after your cat, he made such a great come back. A fringe tree would be lovely in place of the tri color beech or what about a vitex? Have a great day!

Your garden is absolutely lovely as always. I enjoyed seeing the seed dahlia’s as this was my first year to try them. They are like a box of chocolates because you never know what you are going to get! They are so fun. I think your main garden walk is beautiful as is. Also, can you grow crepe myrtles in your area? The Natchez crepe myrtle is a beautiful umbrella shape tree when mature, It has white blooms and has beautiful copper bark (after it peels each year) for gorgeous winter interest. It might make a nice replacement for the tri-colored beech. Thank you for the August tour and so glad you made it in before that storm hit! I hope you have a wonderful day.

Your garden keeps getting better and better every year. I have been following you for a couple of years now and am in awe of it’s beauty. You have inspired me this year to add more hydrangeas. I just purchased 8 Limelights on discount at Lowe’s. I am a budget Gardner, and they did not have any other varieties available. I am trying to add some uniformity to the back of my garden. I am on 2 acres so I need a lot to make an impact. I love all plants so I tend to add too many different varieties and it looks a bit messy!! Thank you for all you post, and the knowledge I have gained. My husband loves to remind me that I can not grow all available plant varieties lol, but I beg to differ!!!!

That Cherry Chocolate sunflower is stunning! Yes, add another Serviceberry, multi- trunk and limbed up so you can see through it into the garden a bit. Did you see that giant praying mantis on the lower leaf of that dark colocasia at about 18:18?!?! As usual, your garden is just brimming with so many beautiful things. So hard to believe you just started Hummingbird Way this spring, it looks so well established. I agree the tri-color beech (love them!) seems to be struggling a little too much. This might be a stretch but can you grow crepe myrtle? I’m in zone 6b also, in Lexington, KY, and we can grow them here. Mature ones have lovely peeling bark. An alternative with peeling bark could be a limbed up oak leaf hydrangea.
