AUGUST in PALMANOVA, Mallorca: Help me out here

In this August update from Palmanova, Mallorca, I would love it if you could help me out here. August 2023 in Palmanova and in many other resorts in Mallorca have not been as busy as many had anticipated.
Check out the video. I would love to hear your opinion as to why you maybe haven't travelled to the island.
Also in this video, I take a morning walk through Palmanova and point out a few things of interest if you have a holiday coming up to Plamanova.
Find out the weather forecast, where to change and take out money, where to take the bus in Mallorca if you want to get out of the resort to explore and a few key restaurants for breakfast and for eating out too. Plus I'll give you an insider tip on where is best to pick up the Britannia Jet for a boat trip too.

Hi Alex , just returned with my daughter,son in law and grandsons . We’ve had the best time ever ,staying at sol palmanova . I forgot how beautiful palmanova was , used to come all the time with my parents and my young family . Just beautiful 🌞😎

Ahhhh, of course, I forgot Scottish kids are back in school now! There will be gentle decline in numbers now as the school start to go back.... before September hits at least!

I was over in july,very hot indeed,would of returned in sept as usuall but even the package holidays are ridiculous,so back next may it is.

there first time in August Magaluf piano bar was quiet ,mentioned it in clems bar family run pub they said it was quiet everywhere. the thing is the people that are suffering inflation and the economy the most are the young families with children some mortgages also, big portion of these are peak time clients school holiday time!😎

Hi Alex. I was in Palmanova for the first time early August. I had previously commented I couldn’t decide between palmanova and cala d’or and you replied that palmanova is better suited and easier to get to other places and you were right! Can’t wait to go back. Coming from Sorrento, Capri and Rome we thought the streets of palmanova were so quiet but we found that a relief from where we had been previously. The hotel was full, beach was full and restaurants were full but streets during the day and night were quiet. We are late 40’s early 50’s and loved being next to Magaluf. Didn’t go there at night but during the day was fantastic. Mallorca was the highlight of my European trip!

Lovely walk round Palmanova... Happy memories 😊 surprised how quiet the beaches are. I prefer to avoid school holidays.. cheaper, quieter & not so hot. I like June & September. 😊

Sorry, I cannot comment on why I am not in Palmanova because I am in Palmanova. Its been busy to be fair. I booked just over 1 year ago. But lookong at the prices now, I may not book again for a few years.

I am in Palmanova too, at the Zafiro hotel. The hotel in like a kindergarten because there are so many small children. Very noisy in the restaurant. The price is exorbitant. Two weeks at a first-class hotel in Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria, would have cost less, and so would two weeks in Thailand, including the flights.

We headed to Alicante city this summer, mainly due to the costs of visiting Mallorca. We found meals/drinks etc approximately 30% cheaper.

My wife and l will be in Cala Bona Hotel next Wed. Just got my euros 114 to £1.Can’t wait l know it will be hot so l will take your advice and stay hydrated. It’s another thumbs up from me Alex.

Love your vids! Reason for not coming yet for me is very hot weather at home and very high prices at Mallorca compared to last year, will come in September - better prices and less people = more peace of mind :)

Alex, had a fabulous week at Bon Sol at Illetas it was so lovely be returning to Mallorca. Spent time at Puerto Portals which was very nice too.

Staff at the last hotel I visited said May/June was the best time as staff are happier and more welcoming before everything gets hot and hectic (and they've had enough of guests).

ive booked september because my son is still preschool so prefer the quieter time when older kids go back to school, no doubt it will be during school holidays other years

Ssssh! Don't spoil it for those of us who know how much of a gem this place is! Haha! I've been four times 2014, 17, 19, 22. Went to Torremolinos this year on the Costa Del Sol and OMG regretted it by day 2. It felt so cheap and dated in comparison to Palma Nova. Definitely will be back to Palma Nova either next year or 2026. Looking at possible Cala D'Or for 2024.

Hi Alex...came to Palmanova in early August (have done so for the past 8 years) and we noticed that our flight from Brum had quite a lot of empty seats, first time Ive ever seen a Jet2 flight not full or near capacity

Just come back today.Really miss it already and gutted I didn’t get to,see you.Spoke to the ice cream lady at the end of the beach who is lovely.Found it very relaxed and the beach just right.The streets weren’t overly busy.Hope to,see you next time.

If you want to know what has changed everyone's mindset it is the thought of drink limitations in the All Inclusive Hotels. Nobody is quite sure about the situation. Everyone i speak to says the same thing! (Not worth taking the chance)!

I think a lot more people are coming over in September, the prices for Palmanova (and Majorca in general) have been very expensive this summer. I saw an article last week that due to the UK cost of living there has been a rise in people visiting Turkey and Bulgaria as the all inclusive package prices are very cheap in comparison.

Hi Alex. We spent 9 nights in Majorca last September, and it was still in the mid thirties then. As luck would have it, we got caught up in the French air traffic controlers strike the day of our departure. Sitting on the plane for two hours before clearance for take off. 😢 John

Hi Alex We're scheduled to travel to Fuerteventura on Wednesday, the 18th, next. With taxi and bus strikes taking place in the Canaries throughout October. Including the day off our arrival and departure. That will be some headache for people arriving and departing. 😢 John

Hi Alex, since the issues with the protesters we haven’t been back to Majorca since. We would normally go at least twice a year to Mallorca however Crete is our choice in September. Nevertheless we still love the island. Take care 👍🏼

Hello, you can rent Paddleboards on all the beaches in Palmanova. Just take a walk and you'll see them. The price is around 10euro an hour!

I know there is a hire shop called Lower Hire. Alternatively, the charity shops ususally have push chairs and you can donate it back when you leave!

Any issues with me bringing a drone? Got license and under 250 grams. Also im looking to do the parasending so will i be able to use my action camera?

You do need a license to fly a drone in Spain regardless of size. Not everyone has one, but be careful, I got searched by the Guardia Civil once because they thought I was flying a drone as one was flying in the area and I was there with my selfie stick.. Not sure about paracending - I'm crazy, but not that crazy 😂 (ps. pretty sure you'll be ok with a body or head mount!). Feel free to post any pics onto the Facebook group - would love to see this! Only going by recommendation s I have seen and many people mention the Sol Palmanova . I live just down the road so don’t stay at the hotels and the hoteliers have yet to invite me in so I can’t recommend !
