The most amazing violinist...and I'm old enough to heard and seen several of the greats. Much of his genius is his tremendous bow control, but it's what's in his soul that really counts. Bravo!!

Amazing! What makes it especially remarkable is that in a work like this there's no place to hide. The simplicity of a largo movement on a solo violin is profound and making it so intimate to a large spellbound audience is, for me, an ultimate artistic accomplishment.

His sound on a Guarneri del Jesu is superb. Really pulls out many dimensions with this one. Different personality on the Strad but some pieces i prefer played on his Strad - vice versa

I heard James Ehnes play this as his encore in Raleigh a few months ago after playing the Beethoven Violin concerto and it was a real treat. Augustin plays it just as beautifully. I’m thinking about getting tickets to see him in Raleigh next year but I don’t like the Prokofiev :(
