Taking down these statues won't change history. I know growing up I asked my mom who is from Mobile Alabama ,why we never bought Aunt Jemima back when I was a kid 🙄and her response used to be they think of us as just cooks and Maids hell she even told us there was a soap called gold dust with two black babies on the cover that they had when she grew up in segregation. As an adult I still do not and Have Not nor every bought those products😡 I'm good with off brand💪🏽

Not all schools and not anymore that was way back..... And it actually a sign of respect considering our heritage and culture of respecting the elderly and not calling them by name.
