Yeah, holy fire is a waste. You'd better off starting with Holy Freeze in Normal, then respec into Holy Shock or Fanaticism in Nightmare.

@@TonyAube It's great as you have two sources of damage and a strong Conviction aura, but holy crap are they expensive. Usually Tesladin suffices as your aura can get rid of all lightning immunities almost all of the time, then the weapon and armor slots are free for other relatively cheaper runewords.

@@TonyAube Its not good if you compare to top builds. You need alot of currency to make it happen, and it is useable if you have everything, but I wouldn't call it "good"

it was called the auradin where you stacked a lot of auras on top of each other

the highest level conviction aura will be used. if merc has Infinity and you use a maxed out Conviction yourself, you will override the merc's aura.

Nope, if the aura depends on percentages i.e. Conviction (minus percentage to elemental resistance) the higher level aura will be used, if it's raw number damage i.e. Holy Shock (plus x-xx lightning damage) they will stack.

2x dream to make this work. and NO the 2x dream does not stack with your normal skill points.

You can make a Tesladin at reset, but it's not effective in Hell without the 2x Dream so you can use conviction. With good gear, you can find pretty good success through Nightmare with just +skills and the Holy Shock aura, though. The aura damage is negligible against bosses, and mobs in later acts, but you can walk norm easily, and with your attacks you can plow through nightmare easily. This shines in A1 Hell because everything has relatively low life... and combined with conviction you're taking chunks of HP at a time. Every pulse is also throwing mobs into hit recovery, and that helps.

​ @Healing soul I don't have a build on hand, but if I was making one, I'd go 2x dream, the shield would be a Paladin shield with +45 base res on it. +20 sacrifice, Zeal, resist lightning. Prereqs and Holy Shield as desired for buff and block % Only enough points into Conviction to bring you up to +23 or +25 or something with all of your +skills gear. Rest maybe into Salvation. It and Resist Lightning are synergies to Holy Shock. You have a lot of picks for armor options. In no order - Body: Enigma, COH, Fort, Ormus, Duress... others. Weapon - Probably Crescent Moon. Could go Grief or any number of other options there as well. Gloves - Laying of Hands, Rares or crafts with CB, +Res and IAS, Dracs, Chancies? Boots - Travs, Rare or crafted Boots with +Res, Gore Riders, Goblin Toe, take your pick based on what you need. Amulet - Maras or Rare Paladin Amulet with res, mf. Rings - Ravenfrost if you need the CBF, SOJ, BK, Dwarf Star if you need the fire absorb, rares with +Res Belt - Arach, Verdungos, TGods, Again, rare + res. All based around what you already have and what you find lacking. Merc - Faith A1 Merc, Lawbringer A5, or Might A2. - and probably in that order for Mercs. You can also go Vengeance, but I've never liked the skill. It's slow. Facet gear if you choose not to go with Runewords. The -res won't matter much at that point, but the +damage will. PCombs > POff for this build.
